21.01.2022 Today's forecast.. Partly cloudy. Medium (50%) chance of showers during this afternoon and evening. The chance of a thunderstorm late this afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon then becoming light in the evening. To the many booth volunteers please remember to slip, slop, slap, seek, slide and keep hydrated. We have a wonderful group who will bring lunch out to you with water, a roll and choc to keep the energy levels up and... to my booth captains; what can I say but thank you sincerely for your amazing efforts. I look forward to catching up later today as I do my rounds. To my friends, many whom I have not seen for a long time that have emailed, phoned, PM'd, chatted to over the past few weeks thanks for your positive vibes and of course to my family thanks for your support too. 19.01.2022 It was interesting to meet many of the current and prospective Mayoral and Divisional candidates at the ballot held yesterday. I would like to wish all candidates in all divisions the best and congratulate George Seymour on being elected unopposed to Division 10.

17.01.2022 I just wanted to say a big thank you for the positive comments I have received from residents of Division 7 who have already cast their vote at the pre-polls over the last 8 days. It has been a humbling experience so far. Pre-polls open tomorrow at 9am until 5pm and will be open on Friday from 9am until 6pm. Polls open on Saturday at 8am and close at 6pm.

15.01.2022 What an amazing 10 days at the pre-polls. Thank you to the many friends and friends of friends who gave up their valuable time to help hand out the 'how to vote' cards and to others who painstakingly coordinated the rosters. One BIG day to go; 'E' Day. Doors to the booths open at 8 and close at 6 and then the count begins! There have been some incredible moments and some that best forgotten, but one I will share was when a man walked up and said as he took my how to vote card and said..."that's the man I want". Very humbling experience.

13.01.2022 Just a reminder that PRE-polling continues this morning from 9am at the old Westpac Bank on Boat Harbour Drive and the library on Old Maryborough Road and closes at 6pm this evening. The polls open tomorrow morning at 8am and will close at 6pm. Polling booths are located at: Sandy Straits State School Kawungan State School ... 10.01.2022 The countdown is on for the Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary Club's Book Sale next Saturday at the Hervey Bay Community Centre. Doors open from 8 to 4. Books for $1 and lots of jigsaw puzzles from $1. Don't forget to get in and vote too. From all reports Maryborough Sunrise had a great sale last weekend.

06.01.2022 Taking time out from pre-polling today to help out at the Indy Foundation Annual Golf Day raising money for RACQ Careflight. Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary and providing golfers with burgers, snags and kebabs.

04.01.2022 While visiting residents across the division recently, discussion came up about MRF... FCRCs Materials Recovery Facility. You will find the staff a font of knowledge and if you can, arrange for a tour when the plant is in operation. It is really something to see. Sunrise Rotary Club visited MRF last year and I believe another Hervey Bay Rotary Club is heading there soon.

04.01.2022 It is one of Rotary's major fundraisers for the year. In fact, you can buy all your reading material until the next Book Sale comes around in September!
