24.01.2022 BURSWOOD | Icon Proposed Tower 6 - the second last portion of land reserved for a multiple storey dwelling in The Peninsular estate is to be developed into a 31 level iconic building. The Town of Victoria Park received the application a while ago and the comment period has already finished. However, after stumbling across it on Your Thoughts I figured it would be nice to share the plans.... A very stylish building, with a curved form and stunning rippling effect across its facade. The applicants have done a stellar job with their submission. I definitely approve.

15.01.2022 MILLERS CROSSING | Here's What I Think General Points: Discussing the future of Public Open Space (POS) in isolation to and preceding a strategic discussion relating to POS provision and the ultimate final adoption of a strategic document is undesirable from a good planning standpoint....Continue reading

13.01.2022 WASTE | Three Bin Trial Successful The introduction of a compost bin to reduce waste heading to landfill has been a success! This was a City of Melville pilot and is likely to be rolled out everywhere.... I can’t image many people in the Town of Victoria Park have the space for a compost bin or would generate the kind of waste to create it individually. However, by collecting everyone’s waste and processing it centrally this scheme has created tonnes of high quality compost! How do you feel about an extra bin? Do you have the space for it? Or do you make your own compost anyway? Talking trash... my recycling bin is always full compared to the regular wheely bin. Who else has this problem?!

12.01.2022 KINGS PARK CABLE CAR | Back on the Agenda An important aspect of Elizabeth Quay’s success is quietly moving forward. A cable car will provide the necessary link to connect Perth’s key attractions - Kings Park, EQ, the city malls, Yagan Sq and Northbridge in a walkable journey that will boost activity along the route.... Can’t wait!

07.01.2022 TOWN OF VICTORIA PARK | Ward Boundary Changes The Town of Victoria Park is reviewing the Banksia and Jarrah wards (a process that occurs every 8 years to ensure ratepayers are fairly represented). Ward removal, ward boundary changes, ward name changes and the ratio of Councillors per ratepayer in each ward could potentially be affected and that will have implications for you, anybody wishing to nominate for council, or those already elected to council.... Be sure to read what changes are proposed and remember that no change at all is also an option! As usual, head over to the 'Your Thoughts' portal to comment. The link is in the comments section. Also let me know what you think in the comments once you've had a read...
