22.01.2022 My heart goes out to all my couples whose weddings have been quickly approaching. For some they have made the heart breaking decision to postpone or just to marry privately. While tough, their decision has been made with the reassurance that they have done their best to keep their guests and themselves safe given the new restrictions on gatherings and travel. In every instance, I have done my best to accommodate all their needs and wishes. 03.01.2022 Went for a longgggg walk with Bernie this afternoon. So good to have plenty of fresh air and even a bit of sunshine. Walked past St Columba's church on Glenhuntley Road and read the notice stuck to the church door. It was a beautifully worded message to parishioners and the community, offering comfort and practical support. What especially struck me was the quote by Rabbi Yosef Kanefsky that concluded the notice: "Every hand that we don't shake must become a phone call that ...we place." "Every embrace that we avoid must become a verbal expression of warmth and concern." "Every inch and every foot that we physically place between ourselves and another, must become a thought as to how we might be of help to that other, should the need arise." Peace every step all.
