20.01.2022 WESTCONNEX INDUCED EVACUATION Peter Hehir spoke to ABC radio about the emergency evacuation of an apartment building in Ashfield. The building is directly above the shallow WestCONnex M4 East tunnel which undoubtedly was the cause of structural damage. Ridiculously, WestCONnex denies any responsibility.

18.01.2022 BUT BEWARE THE STING IN THE TAIL It’s no surprise that electric buses are far less polluting than the cancer generating diesel versions, but the price tag also includes privatisation and all that goes with it. Reduced services, fewer stops have been the order of the day in the inner west since privatisation. And It’s coming to a suburb near you.... If you haven’t already, check out David Attenborough’s piece on overpopulation and Russell Brand’s The Emperor’s New Clothes, for the skinny on what the drive towards privatisation of public services really means. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRPmLWYbUqA https://www.justdial.com//The-Emperors-New-C/1533634653666 ----- The results are in: inner west electric bus trial Last year our community made headlines when we won one of Australia’s first electric bus trials right here in the inner west. We are now one year into the trial of four electric buses and the results are in! Electric buses saved 292,000kg of CO2 (compared to the amount that would have been emitted by diesel buses) but they cost just a third to recharge compared to a conventional diesel bus. One of the keys to this success is that the electric buses recycle about 35% of the energy they use through regenerative braking so stopping and starting in inner west traffic actually makes them more efficient! It is so important to remember that changes like this don't come along by accident - they happen thanks to community pressure and local activism. Our clean, green buses were even featured on the ABC’s Fight for Planet A, a program that looks for practical solutions to the climate crisis. Now it's time to step things up. Following the success of this trial, we're pushing for the government to commit to making 100% of the inner west bus fleet electric. I’m absolutely delighted to see the results of our community campaigns gain national media coverage and I'm hopeful that together we can have an even bigger impact on pollution. If you have a neighbour or friend who catches the bus? Ask them to sign the petition to make every bus in the inner west electric. https://www.jamieparker.org/electricbus

07.01.2022 The government's own report identified the Green Trees estate in Ashfield as exceeding the risk criteria of damage due to #WestCONnex tunnelling. The government was then required to provide structural mitigation but chose not to. Clearly Andrew Constance's ruling out that tunnelling had anything to do with it was a case of premature explanation. https://www.smh.com.au//evacuated-sydney-building-named-as

06.01.2022 Exposing the lies told by #WestCONnex contractors when they try to get out of compensating homeowners for the damage tunnelling is causing. https://cityhubsydney.com.au/2020/07/lie-lies-and-more-lies/

05.01.2022 SATELLITES PROVE WESTCONNEX DAMAGE Satellite scans show that apartments in Ashfield that suffered damage have settled unevenly due to #WestCONnex tunneling unde...rneath. Residents across Sydney are experiencing similar problems and it's set to spread to Newtown with tunneling underway. Where is Andrew Constance MP? His premature exoneration of WestCONnex is leaving residents very unsatisfied. See more
