25.01.2022 ICYMI Peter Mac's Professor Andrew Roberts, Clinical haematologist and Metcalf Chair of Leukaemia Research joined ABC's Nightlife to talk all about blood cancer. He was joined by Brett Conley, a young Melbourne-based woman who was diagnosed with a rare form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, in 2018 at age 26. More than 17,000 Australians are being diagnosed each year with one of the three major types of blood cancer, namely leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

23.01.2022 This week is National Carers Week. A chance for us to highlight the incredibly important role that carers play in the lives of our patients. Carers are naturally focused on the person with cancer and the many tasks of caregiving, so it's very normal for them to put aside their own feelings and needs.... However a carer’s physical, emotional and mental health is essential to the wellbeing of the person they are caring for. At Peter Mac we offer many supports to carers, including our Carers Circle group where carers can come together and share their experiences and receive support. Join our next virtual Carer's Circle by registering here: https://bit.ly/33MIs2A And find out more about the supports and services available here: https://www.petermac.org/news/national-carers-week-2020
23.01.2022 New Australian research co-authored by Peter Mac's Dr Sonia Fullerton highlights important questions around when the sensitive topic of end-of-life care should be raised in cancer care. 22.01.2022 Cancer diagnoses and referrals are at much lower numbers than usual. Many people seem to be putting off appointments which could put them at greater risk. The Victorian COVID-19 Cancer Network (VCCN) is a response to the challenges involved with managing cancer care amid the current global health crisis and involves cancer agencies from across the state. We're all working together to get the message out that #CancerCareNeverStops #DontDelay... We urge Victorians to get their health checked, act on symptoms and attend follow ups. Cancer care is safe, accessible - and very important. Spread the word!

12.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very happy Mid-Autumn Festival. We can’t all celebrate together with moon cakes at Peter Mac this year, but we hope all our patients, carers and staff have a wonderful day celebrating. In many Asian countries, the full moon that many believe is the brightest of the year is celebrated as Mid-Autumn Festival with a variety of customs that include family reunions, special foods, mooncakes, and lanterns.... It is the second-most important Chinese holiday after Chinese New Year with a history dating back 3,000 years, when China's emperors worshipped the moon for bountiful harvests. #midautumnfestival #mooncakefestival

What she eventually uncovered was more cancer and a genetic mutation that explained a family history littered with cancer diagnoses. This is Kate’s story in her own words: https://www.petermac.org//kate-s-story-genetic-counsellor-
