23.01.2022 Ok so Im getting behind a project started by a vet friend of mine, Elaine. The story in a nutshell - a vet named Kadek has just graduated and is on the Indonesian island of Nusa Penida. He has no clinic but helps the locals however he can - sometimes getting paid with bananas! He needs a mere $20k to build a vet clinic. That amount of money is almost laughable for us but impossible for him to raise. This YouTube video tells a bit of the story: https://youtu.be/tSDWVxpAY5E... In future I plan to visit the vet clinic and donate time to helping him work the clinic; I also may have the opportunity to teach the Balinese vet students. So please consider donating via Go Fund Me to get this vet clinic happening!!!!!

22.01.2022 AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM YOUR PETVETS TEAM > A CHANGE OF OUR SUNDAY HOURS For a few months now we have been shortstaffed in terms of our number of nurses. Finding a new nurse that fits our team perfectly has been and continues to be a challenging task. Because of this my nurses are doing overtime most days and working extra days per week. None of them have had a full weekend off for awhile. Each day is naturally more enduring with less people here. As always my team have b...attled on with a positive attitude during the tough times and Im so proud of them. However these soldiers are becoming fatigued. Nothing is more important than looking after our health both mental and physical. We also dont want wear and tear be the cause of lowering the amazing standards of care and overall awesome service that you have come to know and love. As such I have made the decision that as of today we will be closing at 1 pm on Sundays, until further notice. This request was made by my team to me and I feel its the least I can do for them. Once we are staffed up to normal numbers again, we will return to our regular 6 pm closing time on Sundays. 18.01.2022 To all of my wonderful clients at petVets This Saturday, i (Dr Glen) am heading to the Samoan island of Savaii for 1.5 weeks. While Id love it to be a beach & cocktails holiday, the purpose of my visit is at the opposite end of the spectrum. The island of Savaii has no vets on it so there is a mass of stray animals, and owned pets have no veterinary care whatsoever. These dogs and cats just endure illness and injuries and either recover slowly or die. Thats the sad real...ity of it. So, Im going to Savaii with a team of vets and vet nurses to desex a mass of stray dogs (goal is 300 over a Month) and to provide free vet services to the locals. We are hoping to make 1 or 2 trips annually to help the animals of Savaii. Costs for this trip are huge, and all of us going have put in a lot but we still need funds to buy and ship a lot of items we need to pull this off properly. In his short life, he has overcome some MASSIVE hurdles and it has been one of the most rewarding things to be able to get him through the other side. May you have the happiest life, little Otto. 06.01.2022 A pretty sad thing has happened to a colleague of mine last night. The butcher shop next door to "Benny and the Pets" at Kogarah caught fire last night and some of Bens building was damaged, resulting in 2 cats escaping. 1 of those cats had major surgery recently. While we arent in Kogarah: - We know that some cats will travel. - Maybe you have friends/relatives that live near there.... These 2 cats and their owners must be fretting.
