05.01.2022 Hey guys found an interesting read from the Barossa herald newspaper! TRADIES BEWAR!!!! Barossa Police are urging residents of Gawler and surrounding areas to securely lock unattended vehicles at all times, following a number of recent thefts from unlocked motor vehicles in the region. Tradesperson’s vehicles and their tools have proven especially popular targets for opportunistic thieves.... Sergeant Michael McNally of Barossa Crime Prevention Section stressed that residents could avoid falling victim to thieves by taking a few simple precautions. Always lock your car when it’s unattended it’s as simple as the push of a button for most vehicles, he said. Remember, thieves are actively looking through cars for items of value. If they don’t see anything, chances are your car won’t be broken into. We encourage tradespeople to not only secure their tools inside lockable toolboxes, but to secure their vehicles out of sight, ideally in a locked garage. Police encourage anyone witnessing someone behaving suspiciously around vehicles to immediately contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
