Also conducting a Judges Training Course for MMAA to give others an idea of what an MMA judge needs to look for and to also provide an opportunity for for more people to be involved in MMA officiating. #ozmma #reflife #bestinthebusiness

07.01.2022 It's 2am on a Sunday morning (or Saturday night, depending on how you look at it) and I've just got home from officiating another Mma event. Any where I travel to to referee or judge is at least a 2hour one way drive, either to the event or to the airport, and I often ask myself, "Why?" Why do I spend so much time on the road away from my family for very little compensation for my time? Because I enjoy it. I like the responsibility. I take pride in knowing that for the pas...t decade I've committed myself to making sure that the sport of MMA progresses. I like seeing the processes I've been working on implementing become The Norm for people entering combat sports. It takes a special type of person to want to become a Fighter. Some are born with the natural ability, others have to work hard to find it. But watching both type challenge themselves and continue to grow, has its rewards. And at the end, I guess I selfishly (& probably wrongly) take a little credit for it. Enjoy your life peeps.
