21.01.2022 Bones, bones, bones! As most pet owners know, feeding raw bones to a dog is good for them. It helps to keep their teeth nice and clean and they just love a nice, juicy bone. Feeding cooked bones, however, can result in severe illness to an animal as cooked bones are more brittle and prone to splinter which can cause intestinal upset, internal cuts and worse, a blockage. Most pet owners therefore dont feed cooked bones, however, pet owners should be vigilant when walking dog...s as chicken bones are often discarded by the public, occasionally on the floor. Our own dog Millie ate a chicken bone yesterday that had been littered and has been very sick. Thankfully she has been given the all clear with a note to watch her over the next 24 hours! 13.01.2022 URGENT FREE KITTEN ADOPTIONS!!! Cat Haven is one of the few shelters that treat ringworm. As a result we receive many cats and kittens with this problem and ...during the humid months it is much more common. We urgently need your help to continue being able to treat these cats and kittens. Unfortunately we are over capacity with 50 cats and kittens in our quarantine area at the moment. This has meant weve had to put cats and kittens in dog crates which has caused overcrowding in our condos. We have no other options. Please consider adopting or fostering a ringworm kitty today to enable us to continue saving their lives. We provide all the information and medication you need to treat them until they are all clear and ringworm kittens are completely free to adopt. With correct hygiene and quarantine Ringworm is an easily curable fungal infection. Please help us save more lives by adopting a ringworm active kitten today! If you would like some more information about ringworm please click here http://www.cathaven.com.au//hea/health-information-sheets/ See more

09.01.2022 The McGowan Government is another step closer to stopping puppy farming in Western Australia, with public consultation on a range of proposals now open. Have yo...ur say at https://www.dlgsc.wa.gov.au/stoppuppyfarming More than 30 per cent of Western Australians own a dog. In 2015-16 RSPCA WA took more than 700 dogs into their care. Backyard breeding is responsible for many of the dogs at animal shelters. Puppy farming in WA is an unregulated industry, operating without scrutiny. 09.01.2022 **New Partner** Cat Haven WA Cat Haven is the perfect place to find your new feline companion. Whether its a crazy kitten or a sedate lap cat, we have one (or two) to suit your lifestyle. With great value for money cat adoption packages, adopt - dont shop, and help the homeless cats of Western Australia.... As an open admission shelter, we take in up to 8500 cats a year, and find homes for at least 6500 of them. We never put a healthy cat to sleep and this dedication to treating, housing and finding forever homes for the stray and unwanted cats of Perth costs the shelter thousands of dollars a day. 08.01.2022 After some big family events which took our lives in a different direction for a time and limited the time we had to spend on Pet Friendly Perth and being locked out of our account! We are back! We are conscious that we have missed quite a lot of messages to advertise events and activities for pooches and for that we sincerely apologise. We look forward to posting lots of content in the future about pet friendly places in Perth and encourage you to do the same! If you frequ...ent a great pet friendly place, let us and others know by posting to our page. Millie
07.01.2022 Hi everyone. A follower has contacted us to ask if anyone knows of any good behaviourists or trainers that can help retrain a dog that has recently lost its sight due to SARDS? Thank you!
06.01.2022 **WA Pet Project** Please consider purchasing your 2018 Entertainment Book from WA Pet Project. We are an entirely volunteer run dog and cats rescue and registered charity. We receive no government funding and we really need the funds for the growing vet bills for the cats and dogs we have in foster care! I buy the digital version every year (basically an app on your phone which is worth checking any time you are in a cafe or restaurant as you may well be able to get money of...f) but the book itself is available also. You only need to use it two or three times in the year to save back the cost of the book! After that its all savings. And there are thousands of offers!! We get $14 from every book we sell. If we can sell just 100 well make over $1000 towards our vet bills. We are also always looking for foster carers and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. Please email [email protected] if interested
