On Friday I received notification that PIA had received our claim. On Monday the funds rebate had been deposited to my account. 21.01.2022 The Most Unusual Claims Many pet owners take out pet insurance during the early stages of their fur babies life to ensure they are covered for many of the common ailments that affect our pets. However, Pet Insurances Australia has seen many unusual claims that are certainly eye-opening to many pet lovers of the possible issues your pet may face. Some of the most unusual claims: A curious Cavoodle ingested their owners hearing-aid Domestic shorthair cat ingested ora...nge icing from a cake requiring hospitalisation Kelpie ingested a fish-hook requiring surgery Ragdoll being stung by a bee and suffering an allergic reaction Labrador eating rubbish causing gastrointestinal upset Mixed breed narrowly avoiding leg amputation due to a car accident Canine suffering from slipped discs after off-leash play French Bulldog ingested tampons requiring extensive surgery Three-year-old Rottweiler requiring double cataract operations Great Dane sustaining broken bones after an incident involving a horse Schnauzer diagnosed with meningitis and needing extensive hospitalisation See more

21.01.2022 Meet a very special and stunning #PIAFurryFamilyMember, Ellie. "Pet Insurance Australian continues to be great to deal with. The online portal is easy and convenient to use. The acknowledgment of claims and prompt processing is also appreciated. Ive also found the premiums to be competitive. Most importantly the peace of mind that it provides knowing that we can do all we can for Ellie is fundamental. Weve had only positive experiences with Pet Insurance Australia, and I... know the insurance industry in general doesnt always provide the expected service. However, my experience with Pet Insurance Australia has been reassuring in times when weve needed it. Although Ellie is physically well at present, her osteosarcoma, even with chemo after her amputation, has metastasized to her lungs and the prognosis is not positive. However, we are savouring the time we have with Ellie while she is still vibrant and energetic." - Martin, 2020 See more

21.01.2022 Dogs are famous for their unquenchable appetite, its not uncommon for them to suffer from indigestion or stomach issues. 20.01.2022 As Millennial cat and dog owners entered the world of the pet industry, alternative and tech-oriented trends have been altering the way we care for our pets. From raw diets to dog massages, it seems nothing is too strange or too human for our animal companions. Recent findings have shown that humanizing and pampering pets is just starting to take form, as pet parents increasingly treat their four-legged friends as they would their own children or even themselves. Have you tried any of these trends with your pet?

20.01.2022 Pets are part of the family, so if anything is disturbing or nagging them, the entire household suffers. And while we work hard to keep our homes tidy and keep insects and parasites at bay, dogs and cats love playing outdoors and running around in the grass, which is unfortunately where pesky pests call home. While most insects are harmless to our four-legged friends, some can be toxic and even deadly. Find out to keep your pet safe from common summer pests: https://bit.ly/2Iaipd6

19.01.2022 Meet the adorable Layla (ohh those puppy eyes - melting hearts) #PIAFurryFamilyMember "We’ve always had pets, but never had insurance. It was only after our vet recommended PIA after we got our new puppy Layla that we decided to insure her, and it’s the best thing we could have done. PIA has made the claim process as easy as possible. I don’t think it could run more smoothly." - Rick, Layal's loving owner, 2020

18.01.2022 For many of our dogs, especially those living in Melbourne, may have noticed that their humans are suddenly missing their mouth and noses as many are wearing masks. This can be unsettling for our four-legged friends as one of the ways they communicate with us is through our facial expressions An easy way to introduce wearing a mask is by wearing a mask at home from time to time. This can be most effective when rewarded. Keep safe everyone.

16.01.2022 We cant think of anything better than being greeted by an excited dog when arriving home.

16.01.2022 Meet the stunning Princess#PIAFurryFamilyMember. "Princess had her toe fractured while playing with her best buddy, Maxi, and it took 2 months for her full recovery. We are really fortunate to have chosen PIA as our pet insurance. PIA and Green Cross Vet have all our claims processed on-site and we only paid the gap. Usually, for other insurance companies, you have to pay and wait days or weeks for your claim to be processed to get your money back. Princess diagnosis including X-Ray was really expensive and we would have been in trouble if we didnt have PIA to support us at the time of our need. No need to mention that PIA offers the same coverage of most insurance companies but at half of their price!" - Armin, 2020

16.01.2022 "My dog was recently diagnosed with cancer and had to go through chemotherapy, which costs around $800 per fortnight. Whenever I lodge a claim through their portal online, I can expect the payment to hit my bank account within a week. Highly recommended."

15.01.2022 Meet Missy, the beautiful and Michevious #PIAFurryFamilyMember. "Missy has had a big life in just three years and I think shes used up 2 of her 9 lives. She had licked the icing off the top of an orange cake and ended up in hospital overnight with pancreatitis. Then about 12 months later Missy was bitten by a snake and hospitalised for 12 days flushing the venom out of her system. Thankfully the snake venom smolders in a cat and isnt an instant killer. PIA processed both claims quickly and knowing that she was covered for both incidents was a huge relief not having to worry about the vet bills." - Erin, 2020

11.01.2022 Meet the terrific Tia! #PIAFurryFamilyMember "We have our chihuahua, Tia, insured with Pet Insurance Australia. Recently she had to go to the after-hours vet for some treatments and tests. This was the first time we had to make a claim with PIA. The process was so smooth and easy, it couldnt have been better! It made a stressful situation that much easier. We are happy to report that Tia is fully recovered and back to her mischievous self! - Tias loving pet parent, Emma, 2020

11.01.2022 Meet the very sweet Harley #PIAFurryFamilyMember "Harley had a nasty fall and had to be rushed to emergency. The vet said she was showing signs of a possible spine injury and appeared to be in a lot of pain. After several scans & tests the results came back with a bulged disc. Although we hated to hear our sweet little girl was in pain, it was a sigh of relief it wasnt anything more serious. She was put on some strong pain killers, a fentanyl patch and was restricted to a crate rest for 2 weeks. We are so happy Harley has made a full recovery and very glad we made the decision to cover our pets with P.I.A who took the financial stress out of the whole situation." - James Stedman 2020

10.01.2022 Meet the gorgeous Gypsy! #PIAFurryFamilyMember "Gypsy was found to be limping, after taking her to the vet we found out she had popped her Patella out and needed a ridgestop patella repair. Pet insurance Australia was great through the whole process of the claim very easy to use the pet portal to submit the claim. After the surgery, Gypsy had to stay in overnight and we picked her up the next day. We put the claim in late on a Thursday night, then on Friday, I received a message to say it was being processed on Monday. It got approved and I received the cheque by Friday. Was really happy with the whole process of gypsy claim. Gypsy is now doing well and has fully recovered. Thanks so much, Pet insurance Australia." - Gypsys loving owner, Cheryl, 2020

10.01.2022 Puppy scamming has increased recently and according to the ACCC, almost a million dollars has been lost to puppy scams this year alone. Here are our tips to prevent becoming the next victim of this emerging international trend: Check you breeders prefix, and membership registration number. Call the affiliated club and ask lots of questions. Check images by using the google reverse image searcher, to double-check they are not stolen from another website. ... Ask for images of different angles and newspapers with dates shown. Check emails and all correspondence for grammatical errors. Additional and surprise costs are a major red flag. If possible - meet the breeder in person or organize a zoom meeting. Ask about the pups/kittens mum and dad - their pedigree and show names. Research. Be patient - many breeders have long waiting lists. Find out more: https://bit.ly/3kRVZwl See more
