22.01.2022 Burrows Lane - Literacy is a learning intention that many of our children are working towards, through our exploration of texts; Burrows Lane has been working towards enlightening the children’s vocabularies. ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, is an iconic story. At petit we strive towards providing children with knowledge of what keeps us be healthy. This story teaches young minds about what is good for our growing bodies. The Burrows Lane studio echoed with so many little voic...es sharing their outlook of the story. Apple and Strawberry, were among the favourites; and what excitement there was when they saw the beautiful butterfly at the end. ‘Can you feed the very hungry caterpillar?’ We then feed the caterpillar all the delicious fruit. Posting- is an experience the children love. ‘Can you make your own caterpillar?’ Burrows Lanes project is being environmentally sustainability and responsible; using recycled cardboard rolls to express our creativity. With magnifying glasses in hand, we ventured outdoors to see if we could find any caterpillars; and other insects. We searched the garden, through the bamboo. #wonder #curiosity #burrowslane #winner @petitelderslie @ Petit Early Learning Journey - Elderslie

In these times of uncertainty We at @petitelderslie want to dedicate this song to our sister Centres in Melbourne, our early learning professionals and friends. Hang in there. 12.01.2022 Reconciliation Week 2020. This week we focused on learning about indigenous culture. It is important that our children are exposed to different cultures to gain an understanding that will shape them for the future, but more importantly for them to engage in celebration in support of other communities. This knowledge develops crucial aspects of one’s character; empathy, acceptance and acknowledgment. We engaged in Dreamtime story telling and discussed how the birds got their colours. Blossom Hill children engaged in making their own depiction of the birds. #nationalreconciliationweek #earlychildhoodeducation @petitelderslie

11.01.2022 Experimenting with colour. The children in treasure cove have been fascinated by colour and the origin of individual colours. The children have been and continue to be curious about the nature of mixing colours. The experience was seen as an opportunity to extend on this curiosity, while engaging the children in the studio’s inquiry question for term 2. That intends to provide opportunities of learning for the treasure cove children to identify and explore the impacts that human beings have on the environment and other living things. This experience provides the children in treasure cove to see the impact and effect that the action of watering a plant has on the living thing. #treasurecove #petitearlylearningjourney #earlychildhoodeducation #enquirybasedlearning

Responsibility is one of the outcomes for Treasure Cove as they prepare for primary school. Working along side chef Bec over the next term the children will continue to take care of the garden. They identified one obstacle so far and were enthusiastic in their problem solving. The chickens will dig up our plants let’s put these crates on top to protect the plants #learningthroughplay @petitelderslie
