25.01.2022 Hitting the 20s with blue. May your new year sparkle yet still be calm and confident like this year's Pantone colour of the year.

24.01.2022 I've been struggling with not feeling like I'm achieving much of late, and it's actually a thing, and has it's own term: Productivity shame. Here's a great article that really resonates with me lately on why you never feel like youve done 'enough'. My key take out: This doesnt have to be massive amounts of progress every day. Rather, small, incremental progress repeated day after day will add up to big achievements over the long run. And I think thats something all of us sm...all biz peeps need to remind ourselves of when we feel we're not progressing fast enough. Read the article here: https://bit.ly/3gHyKCZ Let me know what you think!

22.01.2022 PMDESIGN: Social Media campaign for Salvos Stores. Styled in store from found items and shot on my trusty iphone. Breaking away from the traditional shouty sale solution, this was simple, effective, had cut through and helped contribute to one of Salvos Stores biggest ever sale days.

22.01.2022 Play and experimentation are important in the ideas game if you want to stand out from the crowd. And wearing a pineapple shirt probably helps too... "As long as I can keep exposing myself to different forms of art and creativity, and if I can kind of hold on to the playfulness of my approach to filmmaking, which is very creative then at least that spark is still there..." TAIKA WAITITI: NO IDEA IS FINAL... https://bit.ly/3aT5u9C

21.01.2022 I love my job. Let's work together!

21.01.2022 Social media has been wonderful in connecting people and raising funds but along with that also comes misinformation.

20.01.2022 Client: Nautilus Daily Cruises, Corfu Project: Social Media Strategy, Content Creation and Community Management across Facebook and Instagram Nautilus is a small family owned business that runs boat trips along the coast of Corfu Island off the coast of Greece, for the huge influx of tourists who arrive on the island every Summer. ... After spending a month on Corfu in 2019, I was approached to manage their social media. As an avid (bordering on obsessive) photographer, I was able to capture enough visual content to run the account for 18 months on my return to Melbourne. It has been sheer joy to work on this account, especially through a Winter in Melbourne lockdown, when this was the closest I was able to get to a beach. Managing an account from the other side of the world, and through a pandemic was not without it's challenges, particularly considering the uncertainty around having a tourist season at all. However we maintained a steady presence and consistent engagement using only organic content. There is a lot of potential to grow Nautilus and normally I'd suggest the downtime is the best time to work on your brand, but there is too much uncertainty currently due to the new wave of cases sweeping Europe to commit to more investment currently. Coming from Melbourne, and emerging from lockdown, we hope that European cases are soon brought under control for the island and it's lovely people, who rely just on the income from the summer season to sustain them all year. #artdirector #socialmediastrategist #contentcreator #travelphotography #corfu #tourism #businesschallenges #smallbusiness #digitalmarketing #communitymanager #worldwideclients #staysafecorfu

19.01.2022 cut> copy > paste....it's second nature to us. We take our technology for granted, but if it wasn't for computer scientists like Larry Tesler, we wouldn't have such an easy time. He invented copy, cut and paste. Thank you Larry for making our daily lives easier. Really not sure how we'd work efficiently without it. Read more > https://bit.ly/2ueejdz

19.01.2022 No more dragging a heavy old mouse around! So excited to get my sparkling white new track pad/mouse thing. It will never be this white again! Ps. There is usually a pair of earrings somewhere on my desk!

19.01.2022 Words to live by, and how every project starts. Sometimes what you think may be the problem, may be something else, so be prepared for lots of questions. So many questions to really dig deep to find that "Eureka!' moment. #melbournegraphicdesigner #branding #creativecollaboration #supportsmallbusinessowners #solutions #stevejobsquote

18.01.2022 Life is so upside down! In Melbourne we are in full lockdown for the second time. It's not easy for a lot of people, especially juggling a business and kids online learning. Hang in there. Do what you can. And have hope that we can reverse this to come out of this as a better, more connected and grateful community. (And please wear a mask - if not for you, for others!)

18.01.2022 Its a wrap! The past two months have been spent working on Walk for Prems 2020 - a virtual event for Life's Little Treasures Foundation. It was a huge job from finding talent for the day, arranging video shoots, writing and designing direct mail packs, EDMs and guides to managing socials including groups, community engagement, designing the branding, managing sponsors expectations, working closely with developers to get a website that felt full of energy, emotion and felt as ...close to the real event as possible. It was a huge group effort and I have so many people to thank. We are so proud that we were able to ensure that this annual fundraiser could still go ahead despite covid restrictions and that the community wholeheartedly embraced this virtual event and helped raise a stack of money that will go towards ensuring that families of premature and sick babies get the support they need, when they need it. Yes, I'm tired, but still smiling. And grateful for the opportunity to work with passionate people with such heart. I have more to share, but this weekend is all about sleep... . Thanks to so many people but also special mention to Web Intelligenz . #LLTF #walkforprems2020 #charityevent #digitalcampaign

17.01.2022 May the fourth be with you today. Or as Master Yoda would say: "fourth may be you today with the." Let's hope there's not too much from the dark side today!

17.01.2022 Hello Monday! Here's a week of ticking off lots of boxes. We've* been busy reinvigorating/recharging/rethinking pm design and along with our clients branding, we've been working on our own (with the website still in development...) This week is a week of finalising ready to set these brands free into the universe to do their thing, find their people and connect. *I've

17.01.2022 Music albums had such an influence on me as kid and then as a young designer. Sad to hear that designer Vaughan Oliver has left us but he'll certainly live on in my music collection. Thank you for the inspiration Vaughan.

15.01.2022 Easter Sunday in isolation. A very different experience to the one we normally have, surrounded by friends and extended familybut possibly one that will have more meaning to us when we look back. The egg is a sign of new life (unless you eat it!) and is particularly poignant symbol this year as we all sit at home re-evaluating our lives and priorities. The last month or so we've been super busy helping small businesses re-think their offering and how they can remain relevan...t and connected to their audience. If you're in business, now is the time to really connect with who you are and your purpose. 'How do we help others and improve lives?' (and not just our customers but the greater community) should be the question that leads every decision and communication, because you're a good human and we are all in this together. Our 'why' has always been helping people discover the soul of their brand and how that can contribute to the greater good. If you'd like to chat more about this, get in touch. PS. Enjoy that chocolate!

14.01.2022 Logo for photographer Kate Shanasy using shot images of the human form as the letters in her name. The result was striking, unique and intriguing.

12.01.2022 Weaving webs all over the place lately. This one for Susan Cleveland Design is just an update (check her out - Including the branding which still feels so right and her instagram is on point!). I've also been working away on two other sites and planning a massive new project for one of my favourite charities. I really enjoy planning a site, writing, connecting the story, selecting the most captivating images and ensuring it all flows - a bit like designing a magazine. Telling a story well transcends the medium.

12.01.2022 Another month gone! Tomorrow is August. We've had a whole month of the new tax year. Already. Hold onto your hats (or your face masks if you're in Melbourne) those winds of change are picking up! This month, a few of my clients have really amped up their social presence; the tourist season is belatedly happening across Europe and they're making up for lost time, meanwhile here in Australia we have a huge national event looming and it's uncertain whether it will go ahead as pl...anned or we'll have to adapt to a virtual one. Right now we're doing both. It's going to take lots of great creatively engaging ideas to keep the appeal and the momentum up. As much as I love print, digital is instant, accessible and accomodating, and is making things easier for those in small business to adapt to the changing conditions around them. August, bring it on. 12.01.2022 Well this year is anything but predictable! Melbourne was keen to move forward but as we will be in Stage 4 lockdown for longer, we are having to take sidesteps to ensure we can complete our current projects. There is always another way of looking at something and discovering an alternative route to get to your destination. If anything good has come from this year, it's learning to be resilient and open minded, or having an infinite mindset as Simon (Sinek) says. . . . .... . . #petitemargueritedesign #design #artdirection #graphicdesign #digitaldesigner #contentcreator #melbournesmallbusiness #resilience #infinitemindset #alternativeroute See more

11.01.2022 Currently working on a rebrand and website relaunch for a builder - one of the cleanest and nicest builders in Melbourne apparently! We're definitely going to use that as a selling point in the website copy!

11.01.2022 Let's talk about connection. Working with a client is a relationship, a partnership that needs to be solid and respectful, creative and fun and like all good relationships, driven by a shared passion and commitment for success. (You could call me a goal digger!) Do you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain? No, me either, but I do like the process of getting to dig deep to find that inner 'why', truly understanding a person and their brand, and watching it flou...rish. The spark and connection needs to be there and making sure you're compatible is as essential, as it wonderful. There's loads of great designers out there, am I yours? Am I your type, are you mine? Will you swipe right? Let's go make some beautiful design!

10.01.2022 Working with a new client, and in an area that is quite new to me is refreshing and challenging but also very exciting. There's so much benefit in coming at something from a new angle, with a different mindset and fresh insights. I love exploring a client's story, their history and most importantly, their why. Yesterday I went into the heart of the business. I donned the steel cap toes and safety glasses and walked the factory floor, met the makers and the engineers, stepped over metal shavings and around huge machinery (some of which have had an incredible history) and embraced it all. I'm really excited about this new project and of stretching myself. #artdirector #socialmediastrategist #contentcreator #smallbusiness #typenerd #webdesign #creativecollaborations #australianmanufacturer

10.01.2022 A scheduled post for Life's Little Treasures Foundation for #selfcaresunday to support prem families facing their uncertain journeys. However, now that we are all facing uncertainty, this is quote is pertinent to us all. Hope is everything. Hang in there. . If you'd like to see some of our social media strategy in action, check out their page. They are facing a lot of challenges - mostly not being able to physically visit parents or distribute items in hospital, but together we are working around these to ensure they can still keep offering their full support to families.

10.01.2022 Social media. Love it or loathe it. It's been an important connector for communities through this year - the good, the bad and the ugly. I have been inspired by a lot of great community initiatives going around, but then also deeply saddened by much of the negativity happening and mainly in comments, which used to provide good entertainment and a few harmless laughs, but they are few and far between lately. True story: Last week I commented on a friend's post. I felt the nee...d to say something as I thought was a bit harsh. I probably shouldn't have and it could have gone either way, but we had a text convo about it and what we were worried about and we realised we both felt the same. We are all exhausted with all the banter and of things being only this or only that with nothing in between, which is actually where most of us are. The fact that we are spending most of our time online with our 'curated content' and not in the company of a plethora of people with differing opinions (which can be so easily misconstrued in text), is inflaming the situation. So until we can get back out there and can human face-to-face, reading body language and all the nuances of communication, we should try to be more conscious of what 'social' is for us right now and make that work for us in a good way. Are you with me? Let me know in the comments (Be nice now. haha). . . . . . #brandstrategy #brandstrategymatters #brandingidentity #authenticbrandingthatconnects #petitemargueritedesign #design #artdirection #graphicdesign #typography #socialmediastrategy #digitaldesigner #contentcreator #communicationiskey #smallbusinessbrandinganddevelopment #melbournedesigner #melbournesmallbusiness #creativecollaboration #beagoodhuman #sociallyresponsible

09.01.2022 Do you TikTock? It's not really been on the radar for my clients, but it looks like a fun app to play in. Do you have to show id to get in? :) There's lots of creativity happening on here, so, as the other platforms are struggling to stay relevant and appealing, it's worth checking out to see if this is your thing. My young daughter has been pestering me to let her on and I'm hesitant (as with any social for a tween) but as a creative cookie I think she'd love this platform to express her ideas. #torn. So watch this space.

09.01.2022 Taking a long weekend to get away and refresh and look at things other than screens! I'm in the beautiful town of Daylesford which is full of fantastic examples of vintage sign writing like this. #typographictourism

07.01.2022 Thank you to our awesome clients and friends. Look forward to working on some exciting new things with you in the next decade! Enjoy your break.

06.01.2022 Going through my albums rounding up projects for my website and found this piece of history from when petite marguerite first launched as a greeting card brand. It morphed pretty quickly into a design business soon after, but this was a fun time designing for kids with lots of colour and illustration. And puns. So many puns! Little Sebastian here is modelling a very popular design with the boys - giraffe in a mini!

05.01.2022 Melanie McCarthy is a mentor and public speaker who specialises in coaching people in technical industries to become better leaders. An engineer and a successful mining manager, Mel's uses her learned experience to encourage women to find their confidence in male dominated industries, to coach entrepreneurs and to show others how to lead with a people focused strategy. Mel's original logo was corporate and heavy and lacked her personality. We worked together to find her bran...d voice and develop a look that showed Mel as highly respected and trusted mentor in her field but also down to earth and approachable. The new branding was developed to transition from her existing one into a new fresher look with a more personal feel incorporating a colour palette to reflect the country victorian landscape that surrounds her home. A tagline was developed to represent her desire and drive to inspire others to grow into exceptional leaderssomething she continually strives for in her own business. Taking Mel, a technical, details oriented and process driven thinker through the branding process was insightful and rewarding, and she gained a new perspective on exploring and trusting creativity to discover her true essence. 04.01.2022 Sizzle's great if there's some substance behind it. Otherwise it burns out as quickly as it started. Context. Story. Your why. 04.01.2022 For all you Melbourne based creative thinkers out there, this looks like it could be a cool thing to be part of.

04.01.2022 Simplify to clarify. Design is more about taking things away than it is adding things. It's also about having confidence in your conviction and this is only possible when the client relationship is built on trust and respect.

03.01.2022 A little campaign we did for our client LLTF, who delivered lifesavers to hospitals around the country to honour staff for International Nurses Day, 2020. Health care workers deserve every thanks for keeping us safe, risking their own health and that of their families. Total legends the lot of them - or lifesavers in this case (an Australian lolly for non-locals!).

03.01.2022 New diary ready to be filled with new adventures and creative challenges. I was excited to find this page-to-a-day diary, which reminded me of Marimekko, in the $2 shop! I totally need a full page each day to record my ideas, scribbles and appointments. Only challenge is finding a handbag big enough to carry it - haha! (Yes, technically it's a desk diary...) So 2020 hey, here we go!
