15.01.2022 DIWALI ~ here at Petit ELJ Forest Hill we embrace and celebrate our educator and family cultures. Today we celebrated Diwali, Festival of Lights. Educators and children were dressed in traditional dress, along with enjoying festivities happening across the studios.

14.01.2022 Dear Families, We had hoped to be in a position to provide you with more information today particularly regarding who is eligible to access our centres after 11.59pm tomorrow night Wednesday 5th August 2020. However we are receiving information on a piecemeal basis and as such a number of matters remain unclear. What we do know is that from Thursday 6th August 2020 we will be temporarily closed during Stage 4 Restrictions to all families unless they:... are an approved essential worker with a permit or approved identification. This permit is required to be provided and signed by employers. are deemed to have a vulnerable child. Vulnerable children will be supported by Child Protection Orders or communication from Family Services. What we dont know are the details of who is eligible for this essential worker permit: whether both parents must be eligible. the form that this permit must take. We understand that further information regarding some of these points will be available from the Department of Health and Human Services later today and we will continue to communicate with you on these and other relevant matters as clarity is received. Please be patient with our teams at the centre as they work through this very challenging time so we can best support you and your children. 07.01.2022 NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORYTIME Across the centre at 11am we came together as 2 groups to read Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas. Our older 3 rooms were very lucky to be joined by librarian Helen from Vermont South Library over zoom, who read us the story as well as sing us some songs. Thank you Helen. ... National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Kids are happier and more relaxed when theyre playing outside. Children learn best when they use all of their senses something that mud play definitely allows for. Playing in nature helps children develop resilience and learn to how to take measured risks. Mud play encourages open-ended play and creative thinking. Mud play is soothing and has therapeutic qualities. Mud play with friends helps to develop social skills such as sharing, turn-taking and negotiating.
