18.01.2022 Yesterday is a day I won’t forget in a hurry. We had been to the park for my nieces 2nd birthday and on the way home I stopped at a friends house to drop my daughter off to play with her friend for a few hours. We had been at the front door for all of 2 minutes when we heard that unmistakeable crash noise. It took a split second for me to realise it was MY car and my eldest son was still in it. A motorbike rider had ridden straight into the back end of my car at approx 60ks. ...He had gone up over the roof and down the passenger door onto the main road. By the time I’d run up the drive way, Jaxon was walking towards me with a fat lip and blood around his mouth. (That’s what you get for waiting in the car and playing on your phone ) The bike rider was conscious but agitated and in obvious pain. The wait for police, fire and ambulance felt like an eternity. The rider didn’t brake. He didn’t even swerve. His license was expired and the bike wasn’t his. I was SO damn angry at him for putting my kids in danger like that. I had wanted Austin (my youngest) to wait in the car but he insisted he come in to say hello to his friend. Im so thankful I let him come with me because he would have been showered in glass and it was his door the rider came down on. We are all ok. But car less until the insurance company either fixes or writes off the car. The bike rider was taken to hospital with a broken leg and possibly broken pelvis/hips and no idea what else. Thankyou so much to everyone that sent messages in response to my story yesterday It’s these split second moments that put everything in to perspective. See more
