21.01.2022 Itchiness in pets can be caused by a wide range of factors such as environmental, diet, hormonal and parasites. If the itching and scratching is driving you nuts then it's positively driving the dog or cat crazy too. Let's soothe their itch by calling the team at Pet Medical... where they can help investigate why your pet has that annoying itch. #sooththeitch #loveyourfriends #petmedicalau See more

20.01.2022 The Naughty List of Christmas Food! We like to spoil our pets at Christmas but giving them treats like ham and fatty off cuts can cause pancreatitis. Grapes, nuts and sultanas are toxic; so best to keep them out of reach as well.... So, what treats can you give your pet at Christmas? Greenies for Cats are the best option - they have a variety of flavours for your feline friend. For your canine friend you can find a variety of dog Christmas treat biscuits with yummy peanut butter and yoghurt ingredients. Raw dog bones are also a good idea to keep them occupied while you enjoy your Christmas feast.

20.01.2022 Did you know 9 million four-legged animals and birds lost their lives in WWI? Purple poppies are worn along side the red poppies to commemorate animals of war who have sacrificed their lives past and present. #lestweforget

17.01.2022 The tale of Dash's misadventure with cat litter! Puppies love to eat cat poo and all kinds of naughty things! Cat Poo and kitty litter can cause tummy upset, vomiting, diarrhoea and in some cases bowel blockages. If you think your dog has eaten something they shouldn't have, give the Pet Medical team a ring to get them checked out straight away. ... Dash received loads of cuddles and reassurance as part of our low stress handling technique and was able to go home the next day. Moral to the story is "Don't Eat Cat Poo!"

17.01.2022 Did you know dogs sweat through their paw pads? However, it's by panting that dogs circulate necessary air through their bodies to cool down. Beat the heat this summer - a full wading pool is a perfect way for your dog to cool down.

12.01.2022 Tips for Keeping your Cat Cool! Some cats like Orientals e.g. Burmese and Siamese enjoy laying around in the heat. These type of cats are often called Desert Cats, but don't let them fool you, they will over heat if they don't have access to shade and water. Other cat breeds will gravitate toward places that keep them cool, such as tiles, hard floors or outdoor shade. TOP TIPS:... Cats prefer porcelain water bowls over plastic. To keep the water cool try adding ice cubes. They will thank you for it (in their own special cat way). Elevate their beds for easy air flow. If your cat does over heat, try using a cool cloth to wipe over their coat. Air conditioning and fans are also a good idea to have running on those hot Aussie days. Grooming your cat regularly also helps keep them cool. If you notice your cat is drooling, becomes unsteady on their feet, distressed or restless this maybe a sign of heat stress. Call the Pet Medical Team and bring them to the clinic straight away.

12.01.2022 The team would like to thank all our wonderful client family for their kindness, compassion and understanding during 2020. What a year it has been! We would like to wish everyone a safe Christmas and a Happy New Year . For all emergencies please call 6541 1555.
