25.01.2022 When Michael from the Google team in Australia decided to welcome a new pet to his family on the occasion of his wife’s birthday, his first search kicked off at well you guessed it, PetRescue And that’s where he found the (furry) love of his life, Bandi, who was in the care of RSPCA Burwood. And boy, is Michael a fan now! We’re so glad to have been the first ‘search’ to help him find the furry love of his life. Michael had so many things to say about his beautiful bundle of joy, and learning about Bandi’s little quirks surely had us in stitches!

25.01.2022 2020 has a few good things going for it, like sweatpants becoming acceptable workwear, and the shift to work-from-home culture sent a flurry of adopters to PetRescue to find their purrfect furry companion. One such adopter was PetRescue’s amazing vollie Claire, who adopted the cutest little cat, Roger, from CK Rescue in Melbourne. We caught up with Claire who was incredibly excited to have Roger at home and to have him to snuggle up with during the COVID lockdowns was just an added bonus...

21.01.2022 Comet and Diesel are #BestFriendGoals. They’re both young, playful and as sweet as they come. They know basic commands like how to sit and wait for their dinner and love snuggles and belly rubs. Comet is loyal and very clever. He’s a super happy boy who approaches life with extra zest. He loves fetch, playing with (and herding) Diesel and exploring. Comet has epilepsy and needs daily meds, however he takes them like a champ and lives a normal life. Diesel is a big baby. ... Don’t let his tough guy looks fool you, he is as sooky as they come. He loves people and really wants to please. Diesel is quite timid so a calm, quiet home would see him thrive. 17.01.2022 There are some scorching days ahead, so here are a few tips to make sure you and your pets stay as comfortable as possible while enjoying the outdoors Take walks in the cooler part of the day (early morning or late evening) and keep your furry friend on the grass if you can. Before you head out for a walk, touch the pavement with the palm of your hand for 7 seconds ~ if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for paws.... Carry enough water for both of you. Remember to slip slop slap some pet-friendly sunscreen on their snoot too! This is Zelda! She gives the biggest smooches and loves to snuggle up with you on the couch. Zelda would love a family to give her a life of fun and adventure. ... 17.01.2022 Did you know that a study found that dogs tend to use the Earth’s ‘magnetic field’ when they’re looking to... ahem relieve themselves After examining 70 dogs made up of 37 breeds over two years, 1,893 defecations and 5,582 urinations, the research concluded that under calm magnetic field conditions, canines prefer to be aligned to the North-South when they go to the toilet, and actively avoid the East-West. While the reasons for this preference are still unclear, you know now why your pup might pivot during a poo! Image: Amina Khan - LA Times

02.01.2022 Did you know cats have a blind spot? While cats tend to have acute vision (particularly at night) and can detect the slightest movements, they also have a blind spot right under their chin. Which means, it’s unlikely that they can see something that’s directly in front of them or right under their nose.
02.01.2022 Meet Harlow ~ the people's dog! No matter the size, age or height of the human, he always wants to be friends with them. He adores company, so much so that he does not want to share it with any other doggos, so has asked that he be your one and only sidekick. Walking is Harlow's most favourite thing in the world. He's always up for a stroll around the block or a run on your favourite trail and is great on lead. So, if you're wanting some encouragement to get back in to fitne...ss, he’s your guy. When Harlow gets excited he smiles with his teeth - this is how you know he's super happy! A family with people of all ages would be wonderful for Harlow. His ideal home would be one with a yard where he can play tug-o-war, a couch to cuddle on in the evenings, and someone that will be home with him for most of the day. It’s sure to be big teeth grins every day! Can you help us find Harlow a new home by sharing this post. 02.01.2022 Bella is a beautiful big girl with so much love to give to her new family. She is well behaved and very playful, always up for some fun with her humans. Great with kids, she's spent a lot of time around small humans and loves their company. Bella would be suited to a home as the one and only dog that rules the house ~ she'd like the attention to herself! But she's not a huge fan of the smaller creatures, so it's best she doesn't live with small dogs or cats. Bella LOVES bone...s and these keep her happily occupied for several days. She makes sure she gets every last bit of goodness out of them.Chewing is her comfort, but don't worry, she won't eat your shoes/couch/table ~ she only likes to chew on bones and toys. Bella is looking for a home with an enclosed yard that provides lots of room to move around and keep active. If you've got attention, love and time to give to Bella, she is ready to meet you! 01.01.2022 Say hello to Nelson! He’s very affectionate, and always wants to be around his family. He will follow you between rooms and find a comfy spot, just to be close to you. He LOVES back, neck and chin scratches, and the occasional belly rub if he's lying on your lap. Good luck getting chores done with Nelson around - if he sees you outside hanging out washing, he will run over with excitement, meowing and demanding pats. A few of Nelson's favourite activities include play...ing chase with a string on a stick, rolling around in the dirt and sitting in high, central places so he can see everything that is going on.He also loves laying in the sun or out on the balcony. Nelson is extremely vocal and likes to make his presence known. He makes a little meow every time he jumps up to a high place. This handsome boy would love space outdoors to explore - either a rural property, or a large yard with a cat proof fence would be ideal. He loves company and is very affectionate, so he would prefer someone who is home a lot, or has many family members to give him attention. Want to meet him?
