23.01.2022 Japanese photographer Hisakata Hiroyuki has decided to dedicate a fair portion of his time to shooting cats during their totally serious combat practices, and the result is purrrfect.

23.01.2022 Hello, my name is Snowy, I’m 4 years old and deaf. I have a strong personality, and am very affectionate and loyal but I can get a little jealous of other pets! I have always been healthy. I’m a total indoors cat only, as I’m white (and don’t want to get skin cancer) and also, being deaf means I am unable to hear danger or predators such as cars, trucks, dogs or anything else! Please can you help me to find a good home? I have been desexed, and my microchip number is 982000364661872

23.01.2022 Meet Rufus! Rufus came to us recently from Byron Pound and he's obviously had a recent owner as he came with his own red collar. He's a big boy, probably 7 years old plus - that's a guess by the vet. He has a wonderfully laid back nature and absolutely loves to be stroked and patted although he gets a bit carried away and can give a love bite occasionally! He's just a big, sweet, gentle natured boy waiting for the right home, with plenty of love and affection to give. Microchip No. 953010004408767. If you have any questions or would like to meet Rufus please email Jean at [email protected]

21.01.2022 The Amazing story of Bella ... looking for an amazing ending! Bella is a cuddly and loving cat, approx. 8 years old. She is desexed and recently wormed and flea’d. Her microchip number is: 900008800536102 ... Bella has quite a story to tell! She was our family pet after adopting us (the neighbours left her behind when they moved). She loved us instantly and fit into our home. We moved to Northern NSW with her and she settled in, exploring the bush and keeping mice and rats down around our home. One day she disappeared and didn’t come back. We put up posters, rang local vets and asked as many people as we could if they had seen her. We never heard anything, so after, 3 or 4 months we realised she wasn’t likely to come back. We were very sad, but we grieved, put her to rest and moved on. 5 years later (2020), I received a phone call off a vet in the Gold Coast. They told me they had my cat, Bella! I didn’t believe it at first. But it was her, her microchip told them so! They had to move her out asap, so, even though I wasn’t sure how I’d look after a cat, as we’d just moved into a caravan, I picked her up. It’s been a couple months now of trying to make it work with Bella in our family again, but it isn’t going well. I have developed a bad cat fur allergy and we cannot keep her contained in a caravan. She has become an adept hunter out in nature. She needs an indoor home and a family who can cuddle her and keep her happy indoors. She is easy to love and purrs a lot, if she is given affection. She is currently living with a friend on the property where we live in until we find her a new home. This friend loves Bella, but is definitely needing her to go to her forever home soon! Please contact me, Kien, on 0469174983.

11.01.2022 It must be springtime! We have just had a host of new kittens and cats come to our shelter in the past few days! As soon as they have all been microchipped and had all their necessary procedures we’ll post some pictures and they’ll be ready to meet their new families, so stay tuned! We’ve also made some modest price adjustments for our cats and kittens to help keep up with ever increasing costs, as follows....... Kittens 0 - 12 months $200 Adults under 3 years $170 Adults 3 - 7 years $120 Adults over 7 years $100 I’m sure you’ll agree this still represents excellent value for our little furry friends, given they are all desexed, microchipped and one inoculation. For further Enquiries please email Jean at [email protected]

06.01.2022 Wednesday 23rd September: WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL ALREADY! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU LOVELY PEOPLE. Of course we can always use donations but we understand that money is tight for a lot of you so we are very, very grateful. Can you help us help poor Simon ... aka Big Simmo? This beautiful big ginger boy was dropped off at our shelter today.... Simon is approx 4-5 years old and he has a badly injured leg that needs amputation ASAP. We were told the Rangers would have to euthanise him if we couldn’t take him on, so of course the answer was yes without hesitation. We’ve since been told the amputation is going to cost around $900 which as I’m sure you’d agree is a lot for a small volunteer run shelter like ours, especially in these current times. In fact a couple of our volunteers have already offered to chip in a few bucks of their own in the hope we might possibly be able to raise the whole lot with the kind help and hearts of our wonderful followers and fellow cat lovers If anyone wished to help us out with poor Simon I’m sure you’ll earn his eternal Cat gratitude... You can donate directly into our bank account as follows: (Please mention ‘Simons Surgery’ in your remarks) Pets for Life Billinudgel Southern Cross Credit Union BSB 722 744 ACCT 100121739 Please email Jean at [email protected] for further Enquiries Thankyou in advance for your wonderful ongoing support and generosity The Pets for Life team If you'd like a receipt for your tax please email us at: [email protected].

04.01.2022 THE MISSION OF A CAT "Most people think that cats do nothing, are lazy and do nothing but eat and sleep ... It is not so! Do you know what a cat's mi...ssion is? All cats have the power, every day, to remove the negative energy accumulated in our body ... as soon as we fall asleep, they absorb that energy. If there is more than one person in the family, and only one cat, it can accumulate an excessive amount of negativity by absorbing energy from so many people ... When they sleep, the cat's body releases the negativity it takes away from us. If we are too stressed, they may not have enough time to release all that negative energy, and so, as a result, it accumulates as fat, until they can release it. So, they get fat and you think it was the food you were feeding them ... or because they don't move enough ... and the truth is, they don't. It is nice to have more than one cat in the house, so that the weight is divided between them. They also protect us during the night, so that no unwanted spirits enter our house or our room while we sleep ... That's why they like to sleep in our bed. And if they think we're fine, they won't sleep with us. If there was something strange around us, they jump into our bed and protect us ... If a person comes to our house, and the cats feel that that person is there to harm us or that he is bad, the cats surround us to "protect" us ... If you don't have cats, and a stray cat comes into your house and adopts it as a home, it's because you need a cat at that particular time ... So the stray cat volunteered to help you. Thank the cat for choosing your home for that job. If you have other cats and can't keep the stray cat, find a place for him. The cat came for a reason unknown to us on a physical level, and in dreams you can see the reason for the appearance of the cat at that moment. There may be a debt, some karma he has to pay ... "So don't freak out or frighten the cat." Well, "he" will have to come back, one way or another, to fulfill this obligation ... Cats heal us Cats are adorable creatures, and they love their owners above all else, but they have a different way of loving ... Their love is true, so don't doubt it.They are our great and true friends and above all good companions. Follow us on Instagram for more awesome posts Instagram : https://bit.ly/34OE83V

He's doing really well and is a big sook!... He's been up on his 3 legs and been to the toilet. Molly, the vet nurse said he's such a laid back cat. She's going to take him home for the weekend to make sure he gets his meds and then a shelter volunteer will possibly take him home on foster for rehab. He's actually sleeping on his bad hip! Simon sends lots of love and thanks and a big meow to all of you kind and generous people who made his surgery possible See more

02.01.2022 WANTED - A VERY SPECIAL PERSON to adopt Rhada. DOB 19/0l/2019). Rhada came in after being caught in a cat trap and at that time she was heavily pregnant.. She's now had the kittens and was a very attentive and loving mother. She's extremely shy and scared so only a very special person will be capable of bringing out her true nature...She and her foster carer now have a lovely bond; however it's taken many many weeks of patience to get to this stage. There’s no doubt she has suffered some sort of trauma in her past, so she will need ongoing patience and love to help her regain trust in humans. A very quiet home with only one or maybe two, special persons (no children) where she can be an indoor only cat, would be her perfect fit. If you're that VERY SPECIAL PERSON(S) please ring Jean on 0403 533 589. Microchip no. 53010004408664.
