05.01.2022 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY We love to see photos of your dogs, but especially today... show us your lovely little dogs, marvellous medium sized dogs or beautiful big dogs What is National Dog Day... The day was founded in 2004 by Animal Welfare Advocate and Pet Lifestyle Expert, Colleen Paige. National Dog Day celebrates all breeds, mixed and pure and serves to help galvanise the public to recognise the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, either from shelters or rescues. National Dog Day honours family dogs and dogs that work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day - protecting our families and homes, for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for the disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and by helping to locate and rescue victims of accidents and tragedy. There are endless amount of ways to celebrate National Dog Day. Does your dog love a long walk? Consider taking them on a hike and giving them plenty of time to stop and smell the flowers. Do they have a favourite treat you have to hide away in the cupboard? Give them an extra one (or four) when you get home. Enjoy the day!

01.01.2022 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Do you live in or near Mandurah, Halls Head, Erskine, Falcon or Dawesville and could offer some walks to some new POOPS dogs who are waiting patiently for some walks? We want to say thank you to some of our Coastal South vollies who have helped spread the word around the Mandurah area, and to the POOPS community members who have shared our posts in the past regarding the Mandurah area. ... As they say good news travels fast as weve had new clients reach out to POOPS for assistance, so we are looking for some additional vollies to join the team! If you would like to sign up as a volunteer then please fill in an application form: https://www.poopswa.org.au/volunteer-application/ Note || Volunteers must be 18 or over, and be able to independently undertake pet care duties for POOPS clients without additional assistance. Volunteers must hold a Police Clearance (within 12 months validity) or a Working With Children Card (we accept a valid WWCC, but we are not an eligible sponsor organisation for a new WWCC application).
