We have hundreds of animals in our care on any one day, going through the process of being rehabilitated and rehomed by our volunteers." - Saskia, Co-Founder and President, Forever Friends Animal Rescue. PETstock Assist recently donated a $40k grant to this team to help... build their Animal Rehabilitation Sanctuary and Emergency Boarding Facility. They do tireless work day in, day out, and we want to support their mission. Forever Friends Animal Rescue's aim is to save and transform the lives of homeless, neglected and abused animals in the community. They put in place unique training to ensure animals become comfortable with routine medical care, undertake enrichment-based enclosure upgrades, and run bigger scale projects like helping save the Mountain Pygmy Possum fro...m extinction. Part of our contribution is the funding of an Animal Welfare Officer at Zoos Victoria, who is currently involved in many key projects. Taking care of animals is something we can all do, in many different ways. Here at PETstock, we have our own charity, PETstock Assist, that supports big and small animal welfare initiatives across the country, including our partnership Zoos Victoria. 06.01.2022 It's more than a wish The impact of our PETstock Assist Wishing Tree extends to many local charities across the country. In 2019, the Animal Welfare League of South Australia received $1,900 in cash donations from the PETstock Assist Wishing Tree. They have used this money to buy much needed resources to help the animals in their care. These donations provided:... Toys. Treats. Specialised food for kittens, cats, dogs and puppies in foster care, plus those recovering from surgery. "Thousands of kittens arrive at AWL each spring and summer, so the donations were a real help in rising to the challenge we face each kitten season, " Animal Welfare League SA. 05.01.2022 Meet Miss Daisy She recently visited our PETstock VET Rouse Hill Clinic for bladder stones to be removed, which was a complete success and big relief to her humans. Now she's at home, recovering well. We wish her all the very best! Signs of bladder stones include:... Urinating small amounts very frequently. Blood in the urine. Discoloured urine. Discomfort and difficulty urinating. Bloated or sensitive stomach. Avoidance of exercise. Pain in the kidney area. If your dog is showing any of these symptoms, please contact your local vet for further tests and investigation.

04.01.2022 PETstock Assist Grant - Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre Inc. "Studies have shown that being around horses can affect human brain wave patterns and adjust moods. The horses we use in our program are real rescues that may have suffered neglect, abuse or come via RSPCA seizures," - Sonya, Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre specialises in offering Equine Assisted Therapy for people with PTSD..., anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. The horses used in the program are rescue horses or horses that have been surrendered, and assessed as suitable in providing equine therapy work. To support the group, PETstock Assist has donated a grant of $20,590 for the purchase of a new horse float. This will replace an old, inadequate float and be safe for all types of horses.
