05.01.2022 Saying it as it really is.

04.01.2022 In Australia today we celebrate Father's Day. A big shout out to all the Father's! Today we honor fathers and by faith trust that father's will be all that they can be with the strength of Christ. As I reflect on a father’s role, up I believe the role of the father in the family is a pivotal one. ... He is called upon to be a leader, protector, inspirer and bring joy for the family, and to give an example of Christ’s love by being loving towards the children’s mother. He is also to be strong in the faith, and to bring the children up knowing right from wrong. Father’s Day provides an excellent opportunity to remember important principles and events, recalibrate toward the good and the right, and resolve to persevere toward righteousness. We live in a crazy, mixed-up world that is often anything but godly. Christians need to be wise to the fact that our secular culture is trying to influence us and our children to reject God and live however we please. This ungodly, sinful desire is nothing new, but we need to discern these powerful influences. One of the prevailing concerns Paul had in writing Timothy was that Timothy would not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God (2 Timothy 1:8). Father’s Day should remind us that God-fearing parents of all ages have been concerned that their children would walk in the truth. As I look back at the life of my own Father, I fully recognized that his life provided a model for my siblings and I, and others to follow. He has carefully lived his life in Christ, knowing that others were observing him. Today is an opportunity to thank those men who have shaped us, invested in us, been patient with us, and given us the love and stability we have needed to become mature and competent adults. As we celebrate Father's Day it helps us to enrich our appreciation of our fathers and the older men in our lives who have helped to mould us to become the people we are today. Wishing all families a very Happy Father's Day, for those who are fathers, we ask for wisdom and humility in the face of the task of parenting. May your Heavenly Father give the strength you need to do well by your children. ~ Annita
