25.01.2022 NEXT GENERATION OF MILITARY VESSELS LAUNCHED Yesterday was a momentous day in PFG’s history. We launched a new high-speed, Tasmanian built tactical watercraft. ‘The Sentinel’ is designed to penetrate the Military and Defence Force, as well as public security and emergency service organisations both domestically and internationally.... The Sentinel is the culmination of our research and development, experience, and relentless focus on the people who rely on our boats, over the last 25 years. PFG has manufactured over one hundred boats in Hobart, including a number for Tasmania Police, also named the Sentinel, and commissioned by PFG in 2001. The Sentinel is innovative and unique, being manufactured from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) which has a significantly longer work life than aluminium alternatives and offers a safer, smoother experience. The high-performance vessels are designed for demanding operations such as patrols, crew transfers, rescues, first responses and dive boat operations. The Sentinel has evolved from aquaculture work boats, still used by Tassal and Huon Aquaculture, to high performance National Security tactical watercrafts for maritime operations where reliability, high capability and mission availability are vital. We are Defence ready; we have the capability, we have the proven performance, we have the future technology that Defence needs. The Sentinel is a world class, proven Australian solution, and it’s built right here in Tasmania, Chief Executive Officer of PFG, Rob Inches said. The evolution of The Sentinel is shown in the video below.

18.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? PFG design and manufacture the biggest range of Australian made New Era Tanks, bait tanks, berley buckets and cutting boards. The petrol, diesel and water tanks of varying sizes are rotationally moulded with a 6mm polyethylene skin to prevent permeation and provide a safe and durable product. New Era Tanks include quality brass inserts and fittings. We are excited to be selling these through marine distributors across Australia. See the full range here: www.neweratanks.com.au

17.01.2022 Our newly launched tactical watercraft, The Sentinel, is featured in Defence Connect today. High-density polyethylene is likely to be one of the solutions to give the capability edge the ADF needs on the water. These vessels have been operating in Tasmanian waters for decades. Unlike composites and carbon fibre, they have a proven pedigree of service and reliability, and have ballistic and vibration advantages, PFG Group CEO, Robert Inches, said. 14.01.2022 For those who are interested in viewing the launch of The Sentinel, which took place in the Prince of Wales Bay maritime precinct at PFG last week, settle in, grab a coffee and watch below.

14.01.2022 We were thrilled to be featured in the Australian Defence Magazine recently, with the launch of our tactical watercraft, The Sentinel.

13.01.2022 A beautiful morning out in Tasmania's maritime precinct, Prince of Wales Bay, taking the 12 tonne aquatic weed harvester for a test run.

13.01.2022 Progress update | Aquatic Weed Harvester We are now in the final stages of completion. We carefully lifted the harvester in to the water this week to test various components, including the cutter conveyor. Next week we’ll be going for a test run out in Prince of Wales Bay an aquatic weed harvester is not something you see every day in our waterways!

10.01.2022 Our new performance waterjet cutter getting a work out on 10mm stainless steel - 55,000psi pierced through in 190 seconds.

10.01.2022 In an Australian first, this unique aquatic weed harvester combining a HDPE hull and stainless steel componentry departed PFG Goodwood this morning en route for its new home on Lake Wendouree in Ballarat. It’ll be working 7 days a week, cutting weed from the bottom of the urban lake, which is home to a wide range of attractions and recreational activities. This is a proud moment for the PFG team.

05.01.2022 Seeing double. We are putting the finishing touches on the 4.6m and 6.5m flood rescue Sentinel vessels before they head off interstate this week.

04.01.2022 The shiny new piece of equipment that arrived at PFG recently was a Waterjet Cutter. We are very excited to be able to cut pretty much anything up to 178mm. Whether it’s aluminium, steel, stone, marble, plastic, rubber, food (!)you name it, it’ll cut it. Pictured is a section cut out of 100mm mild steel. The benefits of waterjet cut material is that it doesn’t require secondary finishing, it cuts intricate designs and there are no heat affected zones. 01.01.2022 Some intricate designs and a 20mm aluminium cutout, coming off the Waterjet Cutter today.

01.01.2022 Another screen install - this time for the west coast. View our standard screen options and prices here: https://pfg-group.com.au/plastic-fabrications/ We also custom make to your requirements.

01.01.2022 This may look like we are trying to sink one of our vesselsand you’d be correct in your thinking but it’s manufactured from positively buoyant HDPE so it didn't. Today we conducted first of class swamp testing of a 4.6m flood rescue vessel for an interstate emergency services department. The weight onboard, including passengers, is equivalent to a small car! And no, it’s not sitting on the bottom of the River Derwent.
