Medicare rebates still apply, with the gap being the same for both Telehealth and face to face appointments. If you have any concerns regarding our billing practices, please do not hesitate to contact our Practice Manager, Carolyn Billington. 05.01.2022 Dear Community, Thank you for all your efforts in keeping our community safe over the last few months. In response to the worrying COVID-19 numbers within Victoria over recent weeks, we have made some changes to our appointment procedures in our Port Fairy, Koroit and Macarthur Clinics. They are as follows: * All consultations will be conducted via telephone ... * If a face to face appointment is required, we ask that you park in front of the clinic; the Doctor will still commence the appointment by telephone, bringing you into the clinic when deemed safe and necessary. * In keeping with State Government advice, we ask that patients wear a mask during face to face consultations. We have a very limited number of masks available, so if you can supply your own, it would be greatly appreciated. We recognise these precautions can be confronting, but our mission is to keep everyone in our community safe as we navigate this pandemic together. We still encourage anyone with cold-like symptoms, sore throat, a sudden loss of smell or fatigue to ring one of the Respiratory/Swabbing clinics and be tested for COVID-19. Most importantly, regardless of your swab result, remain isolating until your symptoms have resolved. Keep an eye on Moyne Health Services Facebook page for clinic times or call the Warrnambool clinics below. SWHC Respiratory Clinic: 55631 666 - Option 5 Great South Coast Respiratory Clinic: 0428 606 397 or book via HotDoc online (www.hotdoc.com.au///warrnambool-respiratory-clinic/doctors) Thank you for your continued support and understanding. 03.01.2022 Dear Community, Premier Dan Andrews announced today that from 11:59pm this Sunday 2nd August, it will be mandatory for all Victorians to wear face coverings when outside their homes. As you are aware, our doctors have been wearing masks since March, and for the past week, we have been asking you to wear a mask when you come into our clinic for a face to face consultation. Face covering is an important tool in preventing the spread of Covid-19 and other respiratory viruse...s. It is a way of showing we care about each other and are committed to protecting our most vulnerable community members. The government has stated that some people will not be required to wear masks/face coverings. Exemptions include infants and children under 12, those with a relevant medical condition, where the wearing of a mask would create a risk to a persons safety (i.e. in a workplace) and where a persons profession requires visibility of their mouth, or when undertaking vigorous exercise (a face covering must be worn before and after the person exercises). People do not need a medical certificate stating that they have a lawful reason for not wearing a face covering. If there is a lawful reason for not wearing a face-covering there is no need to apply for an exemption or permit. If people are stopped by police, they will be asked to confirm the lawful reason they are not wearing a face covering. Regardless of the legal requirements, we would encourage everyone (with the exception of infants under the age of 2) to consider wearing a face covering, not only to protect yourselves but as an act of community care and compassion. If you have any concerns about how wearing a face covering may affect your health, we encourage you to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss further. Take care everyone. Port Fairy Medical Clinic

01.01.2022 FLU CLINIC UPDATE Dear community, Our clinic has been inundated with phone calls regarding flu vaccination. While we understand everybodys concerns and recognise that there is a lot of media coverage regarding the importance of flu vaccination, we wish to emphasise the following points:... (1) You only need to call us once to put your name down on the list. We will contact you as soon as we have allocated a time for you to have your vaccination. (2) We are running drive-through clinics this year. Due to physical distancing requirements, we will not be able to vaccinate as many people per flu clinic as we have done in recent years. However, we will get through all the names on the list - it will just take us a little longer. Please bear with us. (3) While we are doing everything we can to prioritise our most vulnerable patients, please be aware that we receive our vaccine stock in limited batches. So, for example, we might be temporarily unable to administer any flu vaccines to people over 65 years of age, while we await the next batch of vaccine for that age group. We will notify you once we have both a clinic time slot and an appropriate vaccine available for you. (4) Remember that the same infection prevention principles apply for any respiratory virus, be it COVID-19, influenza or the common cold. If while awaiting your flu vaccine you are maintaining physical distancing measures, practising good hand hygiene and staying home wherever possible, you will minimise your risk of getting the flu, or any other virus. (5) Please be aware that while we have a highly dedicated team, there are only so many of us, and only so many hours in the day. We would ask you to please avoid unnecessary phone calls at this time, so that our medical, nursing and administrative staff can focus on taking care of unwell patients. Thank you.
