19.01.2022 Hi to all our golfing mates Following recent guidelines set out by Golf Australia, the State Government and the Dept of Health the Portarlington Golf Club will be closed immediately until further notice (they have mentioned until April 13 but this maybe optimistic). This includes the Pro shop. The clubhouse and bistro was closed as of 12pm Monday 23rd March and now the golf course has a full shut down. Unfortunately a full shut down means no using the course or practise faci...lities . Golf is a massive part of all of our lives even though it frustrates the out of us all. If we can get through this period hopefully we will all have a renewed enthusiasm and maybe for some of us (me included) a new love of the game. The pro shop team hopes to continue with some golf content for all members and guests. If you don’t receive our monthly newsletters or Tyson’s coaching information feel free to reach out and we will add you to our data base. We hope to provide golf tips and drills to improve your game and product reviews to get you through this isolation period. I am sure there will be Further details from the golf club to follow. With pro shop being closed for an indefinite period I hope to come out of this as a better putter (putting mat had been ordered for home), fitter, leaner and stronger (will have to clean and service the cross trainer machine and set up home gym). 16.01.2022 Having been diagnosed with cancer three times throughout his life, Jarrod Lyle understood the hardship that young people and their families face when battling this disease. Jarrod was an ambassador for Challenge, and Jarrod’s Gift is the legacy created in his honour. Challenge supports children and their families living with cancer, and lightens the cancer journey for the whole family by providing practical support and fun experiences 365 days of the year.
