22.01.2022 LEFT UNSUPERVISED Tim is off performing technical miracles today so this might be appropriate however we’re not sure if the team should be left unsupervised when ordering name tags #goteam #pgcsecurity #havealaugh #whynot

20.01.2022 SILENT ACHIEVER SHOUT OUT Monday is back and with it the looming thought of what the week holds. Chin up and remember the great community we live in and think about just how precious life is. . .... Lee Paterson With a personality larger than life, with a heart and generosity that is even bigger, we'd like to recognize Lee Paterson as this weeks silent achiever. Anyone that knows Lee would be laughing about the silent part for Lee as her personality ensures that she stands out in a crowd, for ALL the right reasons, however she silently does so much more that we would like to share with you. Seen here with a pile of her awesome sausage rolls, Lee will no doubt have given these to the cancer centre staff or another organisation that she has noticed needs a bit of TLC or to just say thanks for their efforts. One of her "projects' (for want of a better word) are the toiletry packs that she does up for the cancer centre. Some time ago we were talking to Lee and she mentioned that she does up these packs with the simple essentials of shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant etc. for patients as they are often advised of a life changing diagnose, their life turned upside down and no time for thinking and it is the little things that might make it easier. The little bottles of shampoo etc. from motels are ideal and when any of these are on sale at the supermarket, Lee takes the opportunity to stock up. Since learning of Lee's project, we have gladded been able to drop off some bits and pieces to add to the packs and if you would like to contribute, you can drop at Nickel Albury or Tru Services Group (address in the comments) We know you are making a different Lee and what to say thank you on behalf of a grateful community. Your coffee vouchers will be drop off today. #goteam #pgcsecurity #thankyou #LocalHeroes Image "borrowed" from Lee's Facebook

Thanks to a clients thermal imaging camera, we’ve got a classic image of Maree to remember her first shift back after a while away. ... We’re wrapped to have her back and understand why she was a bit tired with a 4am shift start. Just remember that these days, !

16.01.2022 SILENT ACHIEVER SHOUT OUT Good Morning Monday! After a wet weekend of grand finals, it's time to get back to it and time to bring another silent achiever out from behind the curtains and share what they do to make a difference . . Di Stepto is known to many as the owner of Willow & Co. Coffee Shop but she has a "hobby" that spans back countless years and has made a difference for so many young woman as she hosts debutante balls.... Many years ago, Di took on hosting deb balls as part of the Girl Guides, however like many things the times changed and the guides stopped having the balls. For some crazy reason, Di wasn't prepared to stop there and she started doing them on her own under the banner of the Albury District Debutante Balls. Over the years Di has run over 70 debutante balls with an average of 18 ladies per ball. That's a whopping 1260+ debutantes and their partners that she has overseen, planned, coordinated and worked with to allow them to make their debut into society. In a world were everything is changing and many traditions have been lost, it's wonderful that Di continues to make this available to the young women of our community. From having 1 ball a year, Di now hosts somewhere between 4 to 8 balls per season. That is a massive effort and so many teenagers to work with. Thank you Di for your commitment to the youth of our community in providing this opportunity. #Traditions #lotsofhormones #hugeeffort . . . . Please note there is a fee for the debutantes and their partners to do their debut, however this is to cover the costs of the event, dance lessons, venue hire, security etc.

16.01.2022 SILENT ACHIEVER SHOUT OUT It’s Monday morning, with a bit of sunshine making us all feel a little bit cheerier and time to add to it by recognizing another silent achieve to remind us all of the good out there. . . .... SHOUT OUT TO ROSS WILSON Ross Wilson is known by quite a few in the area through his business, Albury Cabinet Coatings, some have even had the chance to race against him with his passion of his race car. What many do not realise is that Ross is an 18-year veteran of the NSW Rural Fire Brigade, with the Thurgoona station. During this time, he has held numerous roles within the brigade and is a passionate instructor for his home brigade and other organisations and brigades, keen to share his knowledge and experience. During the horrific local bush fires earlier this year, Ross cut his family holiday short to make an emergency dash back to the border to carry out a coordination role for the RFS. We aren’t 100% sure of the exact title of his role but we do know that his primary concern was the fatigue that his fellow volunteers would have been experiencing and his desire to get back and support them and do his bit. In saying that Ross cut his family holiday short, it is exactly that. Ross left wife Merron and family to pack up and bring everything home as he booked a flight to get home as quickly as possible. Ross, and his family, are just a tiny part of the incredible commitment shown by the volunteer fire fighters across this country but today, Ross is our silent achiever and we would like to thank him on behalf of a grateful community. Ross is shown here instructing at TRFS on attending a motor vehicle accident, as the brigade does a lot more than just attend bush fires. When the smoke clears, the actions are often forgotten. We haven’t and there are some coffee vouchers on their way to you Ross. we’ve made sure that Merron can enjoy a cuppa as well considering her commitment to your role.

14.01.2022 On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we will remember them. Lest we forget

13.01.2022 SILENT ACHIEVER SHOUT OUT Another Monday and another reminder of the amazing community we live in. . . .... Pete Adams When it comes to silent achiever, there is no one that fits the title better than Pete Adams, life member of the Albury & Border Rescue Squad - NSW Volunteer Rescue Association Inc. (ABRS) Pete joined the ABRS shortly after its commencement in 1962 and has been there ever since. During his time with the squad, Pete has worked tirelessly attending call outs, supporting fellow volunteers, and giving selflessly to help build the squad. Pete is the mastermind behind the catering of squad events and BBQ's. He is the silent type who just goes about the job and at the recent AGM, was honoured with life membership to the squad. Having met Pete, we are pleased to introduce a kind, respective and tireless worker for our community- Pete Adams. Pete- on behalf of PGC Security and the wider community THANK YOU for everything you have done and continue to do. We would hate to count the hours that you have given in support of others over the past 55 years but we would love to shout you a cuppa (the vouchers will be at the squad waiting for you) . . #goteam #silentachiever #oneofthegoodones #loveabbq #hugeeffort #thankyou #PGC

07.01.2022 FAREWELL KEITH. ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT . . . In 1972, Keith Fox started work in the security industry... In 2020, Keith Fox is completing his last shift in the security industry. . . With a career that has covered so many different roles within the industry, from having owned and operated his own security company (Hume Security Network), mobile patrols, static guard work, armed work, cash carry and more alarm responses than any of us would like to count. Keith joined us at PGC Security (then Paynter Security) in 2007 as a control room operator and for the past 13 years has become such a fixture making calls of a night that we have been laughing about clients answering their phones "Hello Keith" even when he is on holidays or having a night off. It has been a true honour and pleasure having Keith as part of the team and we wish him all the best in his retirement and we wish Sue good luck having him home all the time. . . . COVID has thrown a spanned in the works for plans to have a farewell however we are still working on this and will provide details over the next few days about a bit of a catch up for anyone wishing to farewell one of the towns original security guards. . . All the best with your last shift tonight Keith. We miss you already . . #goteam #pgcsecurity #farewellkeith #retirementlife #bigshoestofill

06.01.2022 SILENT ACHIEVER SHOUT OUT November! How did that happen? It doesn't seem that long ago that it was March and everyone's world was about to change. Don't blink or it will be Christmas .... . Meet Mel Wilke, of WMedia, or as nearly 3,000 women know her, the personality and brains behind ISOBitches. When COVID upended everyone's lives, Mel came up with the idea of a Facebook page to support women while they dealt with home schooling, working from home, not working or whatever the individual circumstances were, and ISBOBitches was born. Over the months that have followed, Mel has provided a constant run of inspirational posts with ideas on how to cope, reference material or links for support or live videos as she gets out and exercises (hoping to motivate some of us but she keeps showing those wiggle sticks- no thank you!!) We think one of her biggest hits might have been a Friday night drinks session "with the girls" via zoom, again one of her ideas to make sure that everyone had contact and as much normal as possible. While doing all of this, Mel has her own family, business and COVID challenges but she has been there for all of her "bitches" It's no doubt taken a massive amount of time and commitment to run, manage and post for the ISOBitches page but it is the strength that she has given to so many women to keep moving forward that has really stood out to us. The coffee is on us Mel as we thank you for all your efforts #goteam #isobitch #PGC #hugeeffort #thankyou
