25.01.2022 Yet another young PGT Townsville Goalkeeper making it to the Townsville Premier League!!! Congratulations to 14yr old Layne Chapman for making her Townsville Womens Premier League debut last night. Layne was granted special permission for her selection to the Brothers FC Womens team on her ability. A great result for a wonderful young Goalkeeper. Not quite the 100% perfect start but a great result with her team winning 4-1. Congratulations Layne. Couldnt be happier or prouder of your efforts so far. Keep striving for the top.
24.01.2022 To all the Goalkeeping and football community. Please take the time to vote for this young man. Tom Glover is part of the PGT family and attended our PGT National Camps. A great young Goalkeeper and a hell of a nice bloke. It would be a well deserved reward for his efforts. Besides, who else would you vote for? He is a Goalkeeper!
24.01.2022 And the Legend just keeps going. Another year at the top. Congratulations Gigi. Well deserved.

20.01.2022 Great to see PGT Keepers playing at their highest level. PGT Townsville Keeper Layne Chapman (right)and PGT Cairns Keeper Ann Barker (left), battling it out in the Prem Womens Crad Evans Final in Townsville this evening. And wow, what a game it was for the spectators. 3-3 half time. 5-4 full time. Not the type of games any of our Keepers hope for, but that’s football. Ann’s Edge Hill Untited team were the victors in the final minute of normal time. A great way for Anne to finish her current Goalkeeping career. Ann will follow a career with the Navy next year and I would like to wish her all the very best for the future. It has been a pleasure to have had an input in Ann’s Goalkeeping journey. All the best Ann and I look forward to catching up again soon in the future.
20.01.2022 !!! FIELD CONDITION UPDATE !!! Unfortunately training will be cancelled for this week due to field conditions and pending more rain from cyclone Kimi. There is still plenty that can be done at home in regards to pre season fitness. Core strength exercises, skipping and any ball work you can do. Stay focussed. As soon as we can start we will hit the ground running. Literally
19.01.2022 Big shout out to PGT Townsville Keeper Brooklin Robinson. Brooklin’s team were the Grand Final runners up in U13A. It was always going to be an uphill battle against the top team in the competition but Brooklin and his team performed well. Without a couple of great saves from Brooklin the score could have gotten away from them. Great work Brooklin. Never say die attitude and self belief.
18.01.2022 Just a reminder there is no training this week. Training as normal next week.
18.01.2022 Pleased to announce the winner of the train at home video competition is Kahn Rebic, from PGT Cairns. Well done Kahn! The judges felt that Kahns video showed solo work, with no assistance. Also thank you to all the other members who took part in the competition and submitted entries.

10.01.2022 IMO, when dealing with crosses, no movement can often times be the best movement. What I mean by this is that sometimes we put ourselves in such bad spots merel...y because we move prematurely. Whether its a step forward and the ball flies over our heads or a step backwards and the forward beats us to the ball, a premature step can be costly. : Sometimes pausing & being patient with your footwork is the best approach. NOW, there will be instances where youll need to make a split second decision, but more often than not, youll want to pause for a half second as the ball is struck and then make your decision. This pausing technique will give you that half second to decide if you should go or stay home, punch vs catch, and what the earliest and highest point is if you do decide to go

08.01.2022 An interesting article. Thank you to Peter Blasby (PGT Mornington Peninsular) for this. An Article from FA Sports Psychologist Dan Abrahams... Training Day ...How to Train Intentionally Intentional Training Ok, Im want to train to the best of my ability today. The most important thing is I train to learnI train to improve How am I going to do this? I have to make my training INTENTIONAL this means it has to be interesting, intense, integrated and internalised. What does this mean? Interesting and intense I need to set a goal to grab my focus of attention. I need to make this session interesting. Im going to work on using my left foot more. So Im going to try to receive the ball more often with a different body shape so I can control the ball and pass with my left foot. By doing this Im going to make the training session intense. Its intense, not just physically but mentally because Im taking a risk. Im coming out of my comfort zone by receiving the ball and passing with my left foot. Its going to feel uncomfortable, it may be ugly, but thats ok. I have to deal with that. I have to try to improve every training session. Integrated I have to strive to get some feedback from the coaches about this goal. I will also ask them to spot anything else they see that I can improve. That third eye will help me be more aware of my current ability to play with my left foot. It will help me strive to improve it even more. Internalised as Im training I need to self-reflect in the moment am I getting this right? How can I do this even better? Is my body shape correct? Does my first touch allow me to play a pass with my left foot? Am I striking the ball confidently with my left? I have to take charge of my training. Its not up to my coaches, its up to me. I am responsible, its about me. I cant rely on my coaches to do it for me, I have to drive my training mindset. I have to train intentionally. See more

01.01.2022 Great to be able to catch up with PGT Cairns Keeper Kahn Rebic at the Crad Evans play off in Townsville today. It is great to make friendships with our Keepers through our Academies and our National Goalkeeper Camp on the Gold Coast. Unlucky today to have gone down 1-0 in the dying minutes of the game. Overall well played Kahn. Keep striving for the best.
