25.01.2022 If you haven't had a chance to check out this building, I'll be running an architectural tour in a couple of weeks. Open event. All welcome. Cheers Brant Harris

25.01.2022 As members of QAGOMA's exhibition design team, Brant and Angus from the PHAB office have been privileged to work on the architectural design, documentation, and project management of the supporting infrastructure for James Turrell's upcoming light installation. Come see the finished results on the 13th of July!

24.01.2022 PHAB was invited to contribute to this recently completed project, Bardon House, by Bureau Proberts. We are delighted to see it published in the latest Houses magazine, and especially pleased that it made the front cover!

24.01.2022 Here's a snappy little article about the Bardon House that we worked on with Bureau Proberts.

23.01.2022 Thank you to COLORBOND steel for the kind words. We love a bit of corrugated sheeting!

23.01.2022 We made a shiny model for the Museum of Brisbane's Micro Histories exhibition. 22.01.2022 The Condensery has been published in an actual real book by Phaidon. #streetcred http://www.phab.com.au/condensery-in-red-architecture-in-m/

21.01.2022 If you want the short, short version, come see us speak for 6 minutes and 40 seconds at Pecha Kucha, Brisbane Powerhouse, TONIGHT!

20.01.2022 A nice little write-up of our New Farm carport in last week's Brisbane News. Thanks to Tonya Turner for the words, Manson Images - Architectural Photography for the pics, and TM Residential Projects for the build.

19.01.2022 We were on TV! If you missed The Condensery on this week's Queensland episode of Channel 10's Australia By Design, you can catch it for the next month on TenPlay. Link is located here: http://www.phab.com.au/australia-by-design-top-10-queensla/

17.01.2022 If you're interested in the technical workings of Turrell's 'Night Life', here's a conversation that I had with Geraldine Kirrihi Barlow, Curatorial Manager, International Art, QAGOMA, about precedents, prototypes, the construction process, and the testing that was undertaken to bring the work to life. It's 48 minutes long, but there are some pretty pictures, I promise!

17.01.2022 This is Slow burn by Kinly Grey | Metro Arts. Come see it before it CLOSES TOMORROW. We've been lucky to see some fantastic art/performance/installation in the 8+ years that we've been in the Metro Arts building. And this is one of the best. We're right next door on level 2, so drop by and say hi.... Images by Louis Lim. See more

17.01.2022 A nice little write-up of GOMA's Turrell work, 'Night Life,' in Artshub. "After we are done with work we go out at night; we change, dress up and take off into the evening to have a good time. I was always interested in this quality that buildings have, a consciousness, and that they also can dress up and have this other life at night," said Turrell.

14.01.2022 We're excited that the Condensery is a finalist in the 2017 Archdaily Building of the Year awards! Over 30,000 people voted on more than 3,000 projects world-wide, narrowing the field to 80 projects across 16 categories. Thank you to all those who have voted to get the project this far. We'd be very grateful if you would help out again, in the next stage of voting. 14.01.2022 Our lovely building owners, Metro Arts are raising money to replace the building's lift with one that actually works! This is an important step in achieving equitable access to every floor. Click on through if you're inclined to donate. (Our wine delivery man will thank you.)

13.01.2022 A new, new newsletter has just hit people's inboxes. Click on the pics for a preview. And if you want to subscribe to our next newsletter, you can sign up here: http://phab.us15.list-manage1.com/subscribe

13.01.2022 Brant recently undertook an intensive course at Sydney University on the Conservation of Traditional Buildings. The course involved hands-on workshops on lime mortar and plasterwork, as well as visits to Rookwood Cemetery, the wonderful Denbigh Farm, and time for a side trip to John MacArthurs Elizabeth Farm in Parramatta.

12.01.2022 We are very pleased to be helping out with some heritage advice for the proposed 42 for 42 Memorial Garden, for Australian soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan. 12.01.2022 Fun times revisiting the Condensery gallery for an architectural tour yesterday. Its hard to believe that its been 3 years since the project was finished.

11.01.2022 Brant was in conversation with Geraldine Kirrihi Barlow about James Turrells new work, Night Life, at GOMA today. Night Life starts at sunset and runs until midnight every night of the week.

11.01.2022 The guys at Ai3D worked their VR magic to help spread the word about Metro Arts' fund-raising campaign for a new lift. Watch the cool video below of real people in the real lift being really scared. And donate to the lift here: https://pozible.com/project/lift-the-lift-2

10.01.2022 Beautiful weather to watch some beautiful lights. From 6pm tonight. Brant and Angus have been privileged to play a small part in bringing this project to life.

08.01.2022 Ashley was on the BBC last week, talking about... STRIPES! Fast forward to 21:20 for a very quick intro to Ashley's dulcet tones (or you could listen to the whole episode, if you're into that kind of thing).

08.01.2022 The Frank and Eunice Corley Collection of 65,000 Queensland houses has just been digitised. The houses are grouped by suburb, and the website is crowd-sourcing address information. See if you can find your house! Click the pic for Chanel 9's news article, or the direct link to SLQ's archive is: http://explorer.corley.slq.qld.gov.au/ EDIT: The website goes "live" on Friday. I'm not sure what this means, but some areas seem to be complete, other areas not so much...

07.01.2022 The launch of James Turrell's latest work, 'Night Life,' went off without a hitch on Friday night. Check out these fun photos from the night.

07.01.2022 We've recently completed this nifty little carport renovation in New Farm. We kept the cool 60s columns, and added a trellis and some screening. The carport opens out onto the backyard, doubling its use as an entertaining space. More images here: http://www.phab.com.au/projects/new-farm-carport/ Thanks to Tyson and his crew at TM Residential Projects, who did a great job on site. And to Andrew at Manson Images - Architectural Photography for the stellar shots. (And a special mention to Andrew's dad for the loan of the car!)

06.01.2022 Construction progress pics of a small home renovation were working on, utilising the roof space for storage and natural light. . . . @vlconstructions #brisbanearchitecture #brisbanearchitects #homerenovation #homedesign #qldarchitecture #queenslandarchitecture #queenslandarchitects @ New Farm, Queensland

02.01.2022 Only 1 day left to vote for your favourite of 5 finalists in the 'Refurbishment' category of the 2017 Archdaily Building of the Year awards. Of course, there's no obligation or pressure for you to VOTE FOR THE CONDENSERY. Voting closes at MIDNIGHT (Brisbane, Australia time) on Monday 6th February 2017. EDIT: Here's a direct link to the project on Archdaily's site: http://boty.archdaily.com///the-condensery-phab-architects

01.01.2022 Congrats to all of the winners in the 2017 ArchDaily BOTY Awards. Unfortunately, The Condensery didn't make the top 16 in the world, but we are stoked that it made it to the finals; it's a credit to everyone who worked on the project. A big thank you to all those who voted for it, and a special mention for Andrew Manson from Manson Images - Architectural Photography for those beautiful shots. Thanks all!
