25.01.2022 Urgent Call for pharmacists to participate in vaccine safety pilot The Actively Monitoring the Safety of Immunisation in Community Pharmacies in Western Australia (AIM-CP) study is proudly funded by the J M OHara Research Fund Pharmacists play a crucial role in administering vaccinations in the community, and that role is more important than ever this year. We are urgently calling for Western Australian Pharmacies to participate in a pilot study that will implement and eva...luate SmartVax as a tool to monitor vaccine safety following immunisation in pharmacy. This study will monitor safety of all vaccinations in 2020 and lay the foundation for future COVID-19 vaccine safety monitoring. There is no cost to participate. Setup time is only 10-15 minutes with no additional work for the pharmacy or team after that. Patients are sent a pharmacy branded SMS after immunisation enquiring if they had any reactions. If they have had a reaction, a follow up SMS will be sent to check if the reaction was medically attended followed by a smartphone questionnaire to get further information. Pharmacists will be notified of any significant reaction to enable follow up with patients. https://zcu.io/jnMQ
