12.01.2022 ANZAC Day 2020 will be very different during the unprecedented times of Covid-19. This year we may not be able to stand together at a service as we usually woul...d, but we can still stand united in ANZAC spirit. The Big Screen Company are honoured to partner with RSL Victoria to provide the television production of the ANZAC Dawn Service live from the Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance The Dawn Service live broadcast will commence at 5:50am on Saturday 25th April and will be available on the free to air television networks and via a link on RSL Victoria and Shrine of Remembrance Facebook pages and YouTube Channels. During the Dawn Service the RSL are inviting you to join them at 6:00am to ‘light up the dawn’ with a torch or candle by standing at the end of your driveway, on your balcony or in your living room to remember those who have served. We appreciate the partnership and support of RSL Victoria and the Shrine of Remembrance to us during this time. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our valued and talented sub-contractors assisting us with the production of this special live event: Lex Audio Visual, Phaseshift Productions, McLean Sound, Microwave Technology and James Sherry. Lest We Forget. #Standto #lightupthedawn #anzacday2020 #anzac #LestWeForget #anzacspirit

03.01.2022 Amazing scenes from Manchester as the live events industry take the streets for a socially distanced march, calling for urgently needed sector-specific support ...from the UK Government. 02.01.2022 People in the live music and entertainment industries are being severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Thousands of jobs have been lost in recent weeks ...as a result of the cancellation of concerts, festivals, tours and shows. Reported losses across the sector amount to well over $100 million and are rising daily. While clearly necessary to protect the health of the nation, these cancellations have affected a huge array of music industry workers including artists, crew, management, promoters, vendors, publicists and everyone else who rely on live events for their income. The vast majority of these workers do not have the luxury of sick leave or annual leave - most live from gig to gig, tour to tour, or show to show. As the most prominent music industry charity, Support Act is committed to doing what it can to help those in need but our resources are limited. We urgently need to build our own war chest in order to provide even a modest level of crisis relief to people who have been impacted. Today we have therefore launched the COVID19 Emergency Appeal to accept donations from all sections of the Australian community. The target for the Appeal is $20million and Support Act has contributed $100k from its limited reserves to kickstart the campaign. To donate, please visit our dedicated appeal page http://bit.ly/2Qvyf3A or follow the links from our website: www.supportact.org.au

01.01.2022 Vote for Bill, if he wins it goes to a great cause!

01.01.2022 There is now an official petition on the Parliament House website calling for support for the arts and entertainment sector. It was submitted by MEAAEquity President Chloe Dallimore and went live today. No one should be left behind. https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_list

01.01.2022 There’s a lot going on behind the scenes with the industry alliance having established a number of working groups. Today in Sydney representatives of our indust...ry, including CrewCare and Support Act, met with Paul Fletcher, Federal Minister for Communications, Cyber Security and the Arts. At this meeting the case for immediate support for production crew, including access to Social Security networks and a substantial Government contribution to Support Act was strongly presented for consideration. CrewCare is here for not only our members, but all live production crew throughout the country. Crew have been front and centre in all discussions and are very much at the forefront of everyone’s concerns. The representations were well received by Minister Fletcher and his staff and we now wait to see what tangible support will be provided by the Federal Government as they formulate their response to the COVID19 emergency and delivery of an effective economic stimulus package. CrewCare also has representation on the Community Campaigns and Action Working Group, established by the industry alliance. We are working with industry to generate revenue and ensure all fundraising and income reach it's intended purpose... assisting the many now in crisis. CrewCare is working for you one thing that you can do to help us is to enter details of work that you have lost at I Lost My Gig https://ilostmygig.net.au/ The data collected is critical in helping us present a clear picture of the need for assistance to the Federal Government.
