12.01.2022 An interesting film from Paris in the late 1800’s, keep an eye out for the Percherons at about 3 mins 20secs. https://youtu.be/NjDclfAFRB4 Thanks to Janet Lane from the Rare Breeds Trust Australia for sharing
09.01.2022 A wonderful partnership. This is what most Percheron owners aspire to have, pure or partbred, French or American type, black, grey or any other colour, who cares when you get to enjoy this amazing breed

08.01.2022 Mares. They are everything. Our breeding program centres around our daughters and grand-daughters of Trappeur (imp). He was a champion in France and England bef...ore we purchased him and he was by Projecteur, an influential sire in France known for producing super mares. We have fourteen mares of breeding age here (and three rising two) and all are broken in and except for the three year olds have successfully competed in harness and/or under saddle. Every one has a place in our breeding program. Our young mares all have one foal as it’s much harder to get a maiden mare in foal once they’re older. We breed to a stallion who will complement the mares and breed to keep not to sell, though occasionally we have one for sale for various reasons. Most of our colts we geld as only approximately one in ten should be kept for breeding purposes. See more
