23.01.2022 Supporting diverse founders with wellbeing. We feel so privileged every day, to be able to meet, chat, strategise and implement employee wellbeing programs with some of the best and most progressive organisations across Australia. Regardless of the size or sophistication of the organisation, what’s so clear to us (particularly with the challenges we are all experiencing now) is that wellbeing needs to be part of the strategy and culture from day one of a working environment.... Last week, Pinnacle Health Group were able to begin our support and partnership with ygap for their First Gens Accelerator Program. This amazing program supports the founders of ambitious, game-changing social enterprises led by migrants and refugees to Australia. A very refreshing part for us (in addition to the many brilliant ventures and fun group of entrepreneurs) was seeing that wellbeing was a priority for these guys, and their people. I was so thankful to Adelide Mutinda and Kim Nguyen to be part of the program with an interactive wellbeing session, and all of us at Pinnacle are so pumped to continue to inspire healthy wellbeing change for these already-inspired start ups. https://ygap.org/firstgens/

We chatted all things healthy eating, while everyone created their own bliss balls. Such a great way to connect the team, engage with food prep and fill up on healthy snacks.

17.01.2022 "It’s crazy how mindfulness is used by management to manipulate you". By Tom Bosna @tomas_bosna I tend to get lost in my thoughts while running and my Saturday morning run was no different.... As I was musing about some of the great wellness programs we are launching next week, two dads with prams were ahead of me and, as I jogged past, I heard one of them say: It’s crazy how mindfulness is used by management to manipulate you I felt a small jolt in my chest. Did I really just hear that? I have never heard that perspective before. As perception is reality - why is that guy feeling that way? As I continued for another km I had to figure this out and came to the conclusions below. 1. Wellness programs or one-off mindfulness programs won’t fix workplace culture. 2. Employer and employee trust is quickly lost during times of uncertainty. 3. One on one communication between leaders and team members is essential. 4. Context and communicating ‘the why’ is essential for a successful wellbeing initiative. 5. Executive leaders need to lead by example and with wellbeing. This helps with points 1. 2. 4. 6. Mental health anxiety, depression is the number 1 employee wellbeing issue right now What have I missed? #workplacewellness #workplacementalhealth #leadership #mindfulness

11.01.2022 Do you take note of your wellbeing temperature? By Josh Lambert We're having lots of strategy sessions with employers, and discussions with employees at the moment about wellbeing when working from home.... A common theme is that many of us working from home are struggling to balance work and home life, and many are extending their work days into the evenings or weekends to keep up with work demands. Pinnacle Health Group Australia and Southern Cross Austereo had the privilege of hosting the brilliant Samuel Eddy for a session on Resilience and Stress Management. Sam’s session highlighted that we all cycle somewhere between the green and red zones that Sam describes, several times daily. And that if we are hovering at the top of the thermometer for a long time, burnout occurs. Simply being aware of this can help so much in the process of managing your own mental wellbeing, and identifying the causes that are pushing us towards burnout - whether working from home or in the office. Well done to the SCA team for such great engagement in this session, and thanks again Sam for your expert counsel.
