If you are travelling up north at the moment, grab yourself a two-way radio and keep it on channel 40 between Newman and Port Hedland. If you hear pilots saying find a spot that means some really big loads are heading your way. Find somewhere to park up off the road and enjoy the job these guys and girls do! 02.01.2022 We are so very excited that the restrictions easing have finally given us the opportunity to get back to training our new to the industry people. Karen had just started her training with us in March when things changed with the restrictions. Here is a video of Karens first drive of a triple road train! It was a 3 day trip and a 1200km + round trip with unloading and reloading. Bernie has now completed her 5th follow the leader training. This is when, after sitting in the pa...ssengers seat for a few trips, they get behind the wheel with a mentor next to them until they are confident enough to drive on their own. The next phase is to follow one of our triples on the same job to see where to slowdown, where to speed up, when to start braking, how to approach single lane bridges, how to safely pass 8.5 metre wide loads, what speed and gear to descend a 8% decline fully loaded, and many other skills you need to be a professional truck driver.
