24.01.2022 So the big mural in Mahomets is in the final stages. I wanted to create a fun way to engage people with the mural, so I dreamed up this slightly wacky opportunity for people to be a part of the surf boat picture. It requires a few tricks to create the illusion, so here's the magic seat that makes it all happen.

23.01.2022 Here are the latest progress photos from the big mural in Mahomets Flats in Geraldton. The canvas is 33 x 5 metres, which is definitely a fun size to work on.

22.01.2022 BLISS mural update. Starting to come together.

18.01.2022 So I finished the top section of the Mahomets mural this week, just in time to beat a week of rain that is heading our way.

18.01.2022 Today I performed my first show since the Covid shutdown in March, and boy was it good to be back. Seriously missed doing this stuff. I performed at Baldivis Secondary College for a special science week show. To me science is about being curious. How does things work? Why does it work? And what would happen if we tried something different? So today's show was different too. For the first time the students chose the music, designed they images and created the content. All I did was assemble it and run it. When you try something new, failure is always a possibility, but I'm happy to report that the show really hit the mark. In the process I've uncovered a new way to engage students with science.

16.01.2022 Today's mural update. So the task is to transform the exterior of the 'Bliss beauty and wellness' building, into something that more accurately reflects the peace and calm that exists inside. Here's the first pass of paint

16.01.2022 So I was thinking that I would be on a non-working holiday for another 2 or 3 months as I waited for schools to open up to performances. But sometimes as one door closes, another opens; and just like that I am flat out again, this time painting murals. So here are the walls that are my canvases for the next 5 weeks. Better get to work!

14.01.2022 Just following up on that last post. Here is the finished mural in Mahomet Flats. The wall measures 33 x 5 metres. The mural tries to capture what it is like to live in or near Mahomets. For me the ocean is central to why I live here. Whether it is cycling by the dunes, walking the dog on the beach, catching some waves, surfing or building community around our love for the ocean. Yep, Mahomets is a good spot.

11.01.2022 Latest progress photos of the mural in Mahomets. It's starting to come together pretty well. I need to complete the high sections while I still have the scaffold this week, so I'll have to jet for the next few days.

10.01.2022 So I got the go ahead to do a mural on this large concrete wall in May. It's taken a while, but I finally finished it in the last few days. This is some photos from the early stages of the process.

10.01.2022 I have finished the BLISS mural, bar a couple of details. I think it came up pretty well, and goes to show what can be done with a couple of bland walls. I think the exterior now reflects much more accurately the good energy inside the building.

05.01.2022 The BLISS mural is starting to come together. I added more complementary subtle browns and greens today, as I needed to tone down the purple and make it more harmonious.

05.01.2022 I am very excited to be launching my new website today. My old site was looking tired, so fortunately I received a recommendation to talk to Sylvia from Bee Box Marketing. As it turns out she has quite a talent for this type of thing. In difficult times for artists and performers with Covid 19, I now have a serious asset to help get me through to the other side. A big shout out to Sylvia for all her fabulous work! Check it out at www.paintstorm.com.au

02.01.2022 I just had the privilege to deliver one last school incursion at Noranda Primary School, before things start to go into lock down. They were probably the most pertinent shows I have every delivered. I mostly presented key concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that help kids to use mindfulness and self awareness to not get in a struggle with difficult emotions. Just like not struggling against a rip. Skills we are all going to need in the coming weeks and months.

02.01.2022 The big mural I'm working on in Mahomets, Geraldton is starting to come together. All the elements and figures are in place, so I can now get a sense of it in its totality. That's the hardest part out the way. To get the proportions correct I had to draw a grid on the wall, since when you are up close, you really have no idea what your drawing. Next week I can start to add colour and texture.
