20.01.2022 November 25 is White Ribbon Day In 2011 I was nominated as National White Ribbon Ambassador of the Year for my work in developing men’s programs in the northern suburbs. I remember in the old days when people would see partner violence and family violence - they’d know exactly what was going on, but they’d say, oh, it’s not our business to interfere. ... Well it is everyone’s business to interfere. We need good role models, people who show us that there is strength in kindness. We need to send a message that any type of violence is not on. 17.01.2022 Today is a historic day. A more equal society is better for everyone. But LGBTIQ people shouldn’t have been put through this, and that 122 million could have been spent on public housing, or making childcare more affordable for families. Time for parliament to finish the job now.

11.01.2022 My name is Phil Cooper and I’m running as your local independent in the Northcote by-election. As a proud Aboriginal man who has spent 40 years in this area building community services from their beginnings, I have worked across education, housing, justice and the prevention of family violence. I want to continue that work by becoming your community voice in state parliament. I know about creating safer communities. For my work in enhancing harmonious relationships between co...mmunity and police I received awards from Victoria Police in 2010 and 2017. I am a White Ribbon Ambassador and was a finalist for Ambassador of the Year in 2011. Northcote needs an experienced representative who will treat everyone with respect, negotiate a good deal for our local area, and get things done. We need to put the big parties on notice. This is a growing population and the corridor to the booming northern suburbs.
