25.01.2022 I'm in a writers club with some fabulous writers. We have to write a song a week. It's currently week 16 and I've got 16 new songs on the boil for a new project.... I've gotten in early this week and I kinda dig it. Hope you do too. The prompt this week was Rough Patch! Here's my first demo take on it. 'Rough Patch On My Heart'. See more

18.01.2022 This weeks song club prompt was 'New Blood'. I ended up with 'Lift You Up', go figure! Couldn't resist busting out some Gospel chops on this one. Enjoy!

18.01.2022 Ok Lachie Jones, you asked for it. Shine A Little Light My Way. Nailing my Celtic heritage to the mast again today. I wrote this after heading back to Northern ...Ireland a few years ago. My cousins gave me a Bodhran (Irish drum) to take home. They then took me to the Skerry Inn that night and introduced me to a Bodhran player who taught me the fundamentals of how to play it, in exchange for a pint. I then got to sit in with them and play a few tunes. Money well spent! My uncle Robert told me I'd need to grow a third hand to be able to play it. He was right. Thanks Lachie for reminding me about this one. See more

16.01.2022 This week in my songwriters club the prompt was 'Guessing Game'. This is my submission. Enjoy!

14.01.2022 My writing for my song club this week ended with this. I'd had the music kicking around for a while but after watching recent news on Trump, having a chat with a friend in America and watching an unsettling documentary on Vladimir Putin, I arrived here. One Step Forward...enjoy.

12.01.2022 Tomorrow night. Come join me online at the 'Virtual' fireplace. Grab a glass and come hear some new and some old songs.

12.01.2022 For those who missed it and want to catch up.

10.01.2022 I love hearing people do covers of my own songs. It’s very humbling and the greatest compliment. Nice work Rhys Roberts.

09.01.2022 Ok folks, it had to happen. Here's my quirky little take on the affects of isolation. I was given the task of writing a song with the brief 'Size Up', nothing else. Here's the result. You're welcome. Sing along!

05.01.2022 Church Pastors! I sent out a message a week ago with the offer to help you and your online services. Due to our disastrous internet sending the file has been difficult. So here it is on FB hopefully you can use this. Share, share, share. Blessings and great peace to you all. Phil D

02.01.2022 Ok cover time again. Last week it was James Taylor. This week its the awesome Bonnie Bishop. Unearthed this song when I was having a few health concerns a year ...or so ago. Found myself singing it on too many occasions. Was a great source of comfort. Hope it brings a little light to your day. Remember, there is Hope beyond the sky! See more

02.01.2022 I wrote this after my mother in law passed away a few years ago. When she visited she would prop her walking cane up near the door and threaten me with it. Neve...r any malice intended but I loved the verbal exchanges and missed seeing the cane after she'd gone. This is a sad, stressful time for many and I hope this song speaks into that space and brings some hope. As I've been saying a lot lately, there is Hope beyond the sky. Someday You Will Be Home.
