25.01.2022 Just finished a Phil Dawson custom Les Paul. Australian Red Cedar Body with Mango cap.

25.01.2022 Working my way through this current round of new builds, lacquer spray jobs and restorations.

25.01.2022 Ready for handover. Mick’s Wyee Cedar Bass. Australian Red Cedar body. Silver Quandong neck, Gidgee fretboard. Gotoh bridge and tuners. I built two of these small bodied basses that came from the same tree. The body is one piece and came from a very large branch. It took about 20 months to equilibrate before I could use it. Still it is very nice cedar and will darken with age. The finish is Satin Wattyl Stylewood (Pre catalysed Nitrocellulose) Just to include a bit of trivia, the headstock veneer came from a piece of stud work on a bathroom renovation my son and I were doing at Eraring. I noticed a piece of partially decayed timber that was full of fiddleback and kept it for headstocks rather than firewood, so I expect it will show up on a few of my guitars. Thanks Tom.

25.01.2022 Gen’s Parlor guitar finished. Qld Maple back and sides, King Billy Top, Aus. Red Cedar neck, African Bubinga fretboard and bridge. Mahogany tint nitro finish with clear hand rubbed satin top.

24.01.2022 A Custom Phil Dawson Les Paul Guitar. Mahogany body and neck, Gidgee fretboard, MOP crown inlays, US Maple top with mellow cherry burst and blended red mahogany tint on the body and neck. Figured Jarrah headstock veneer. This is one of three new custom Les Pauls I am currently building or have finished that are up for sale, if interested please message me.

21.01.2022 A new Jazz style bass Ive just finished for Keith. 2 piece Camphor body, US Maple Neck with Ebony fretboard, MOP block inlays, Camphor headstock veneer, Seymour Duncan Apollo pickups, Hipshot bridge, Gotoh traditional tuners.

20.01.2022 Upgrading John’s faulty Variax pickup system. Fitted a new DiMarzio Super Distortion Humbucker. Sounds great, plenty of punch.

18.01.2022 Presenting a new Parlor acoustic I recently completed. Spruce top, beautiful Blackwood back and sides. Gidgee fretboard. Qld Maple neck.

18.01.2022 Introducing my ChinaCaster. This was an experimental build that turned out far better than I expected. The body is Camphor, the neck US Maple with a Rosewood fretboard. The pickups are budget humbuckers that sound remarkably good, the Tremolo is a budget copy and once again functions remarkably well. This is an excellent guitar that didnt cost an arm and a leg.

14.01.2022 About a year ago I started building a couple of small bodied basses. One I finished in April, but this one took longer to finish as I have been flat out with other builds and lacquer work. Well here it is finally done. Wyee Aus Red Cedar body, Huon Pine neck, Gidgee fretboard, Stewmac Jazz pickups. I used a clone Hipshot bridge, clone Gotoh tuners. Master vol, blend and 2 tone pots.
