24.01.2022 Motorcycling Events Group Australia statement regarding COVID-19 All SMSP Ride Days & Phillip Island Ride Days will go ahead! The end.... No really. They will. Now, before everyone goes and gets upset thinking we are being cavalier in our approach to the well-publicised viral outbreak, we are aware of the potential dangers of the spread of any infectious disease, including the Corona Virus (COVID-19). However, based upon the information currently available from the World Health Organisation (WHO), to reduce the spread of this disease and safeguard the citizens of affected countries, we believe that the nature of our Ride Days makes for a minimal risk of exposure. We encourage everyone who attends our events to follow the protocols recommended by WHO, which include the following; - Washing hands thoroughly and frequently - Using hand sanitizer frequently - Avoid touching your own eyes, nose and mouth - Avoid physical touching of others, including shaking hands - Cover nose and mouth if coughing or sneezing, and wash hands immediately after - Avoid others who are coughing and sneezing - Wear breathing protection optional Rest assured we are monitoring the situation constantly and will advise participants should this situation change, but for the time being, it’s green for go on your favourite motorcycling activity! 18.01.2022 It is with great regret that we have to inform you that the Phillip Island Ride Days scheduled for Monday the 28th & Tuesday the 29th of September have been cancelled. Unfortunately we were left with no choice after the announcement on the weekend of continuing restrictions throughout Victoria. As per our previous communications regarding any dates cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those booked for this event will be given the choice of receiving either - a full refund ...- a transfer onto another date of their choice (to the equal value of their booking) - or a voucher (valid for 3 years). If you have a booking for these dates, all we would ask now is that you contact us with your preference as soon as possible. The easiest way to do this is by emailing us ([email protected]), stating your name and the group that you are booked for, along with your preference of a refund, reschedule, or a voucher. If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us either by email, or calling us on 0466 711 359, and we'll do our very best to help. 18.01.2022 Hire Fleet for Sale! Unfortunately we don’t have any updates on when Ride Days might start again, but we are working closely with the circuit to interpret exactly when the easing of restrictions will allow us to continue. Hopefully those announcements will come in the next week or so. Stay tuned for more information! In the meantime, we thought you might be interested in snapping up a bargain road or track bike! We’re clearing the hire fleet so we’re ready for our all new 202...0 BMW S 1000 RR’s to arrive... The bikes for sale are 2017 & 2018 model S 1000 RR’s. 2017’s are Sport models (electronic suspension / slick chip / etc.) with cast wheels, in track trim with road fairings in boxes, kilometres between 10-15,000, and priced at only $12,500. 2018’s are the up spec Race models (electronic suspension / slick chip / etc.) with forged wheels and Akrapovic pipes and are a mix of road and track trim. Prices start at $14,000, and range to an almost perfect bike in road trim with only 5,280km’s for $15,750. All bikes in road trim are fully roadworthy and ready to register. 17.01.2022 Although there's not a lot going on at the track right now, we've been busier than ever in the office planning events and dealing with numerous inquiries. The most common question we get - and by common we mean multiple times every day - is... Should I book? OK, so we know that there's a lot of uncertainty at the moment. And we know that everyone is worried about whether or not we're going to be able to do...well...anything! The truth is, nobody really knows what's going to h...appen and / or when it's going to happen. Despite the slight easing of restrictions relating to controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus, it is not enough for us to run these events within the guidelines given. The dates that are affected by this are...... Monday 2nd November - CANCELLED Tuesday 3rd November - CANCELLED Wednesday 4th November - CANCELLED If you are booked on any of these days, please contact us ASAP by emailing [email protected] and letting us know what you'd like to do with your booking. The options are... 1. A full refund to the card used for the booking(s) 2. Reschedule onto a future date of the same value 3. Due to the Stage 4 restrictions handed down over the weekend, we are left with no choice but to cancel the upcoming Phillip Island Ride Day on Monday the 24th of August. As per our previous communications regarding any dates cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those booked for this event will be given the choice of receiving either - a full refund - a transfer onto another date of their choice (to the equal value of their booking) - or a voucher (...valid for 3 years). If you have a booking for this date, all we would ask now is that you contact us with your preference as soon as possible. The easiest way to do this is by emailing us at [email protected] - stating your name and the group that you are booked for - along with your preference of a refund, reschedule, or a voucher. The remainder of our calendar is still active and open for bookings, with the next dates scheduled for the 28th & 29th of September, which is several weeks after these restrictions are slated to end. 14.01.2022 January 2022 Dates Online And Ready For Booking! As we go into 2022 we've got some good news...and we've got some bad news... The good news is - we've finally managed to get confirmation for the start of 2022! It might only be January, but it's a start no? The remainder of the first half of 2022 should be released in the next week or two.... The bad news is - we've had to increase the prices on all Phillip Island Ride Days for 2022. Weekdays will increase by ten dollars to $305 and Weekends/Public Holidays will increase by twenty dollars to $345. Why you might ask? Well, the reality is that our prices have been on hold since 2017, yet our overhead has continued to grow year in and year out. And, with all the extra expense of operating in a post-COVID world, we simply can't hold the pricing any longer. It's not a decision we take lightly, and although we know nobody wants prices to go up, we hope you understand the need for this increase. 11.01.2022 It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of the Phillip Island Ride Days on Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st of March. We apologise for the late notice in making this announcement, the delay being caused by our waiting to get a complete picture not only of the governmental recommendations and guidelines, but also considering our social responsibility in the face of the current crisis. This decision was made with a high degree of consultation between Phill...ip Island Grand Prix Circuit and Motorcycling Events Group Australia, and is one that we feel is in the best interests of our staff, customers, and the Australian public. All riders booked for either of these days will receive a voucher to the value of their booking. This voucher is valid for 3 years and can be applied either through our online booking system, or over the phone with one of our friendly Customer Service team. Announcements regarding other dates will be made once a clearer picture of how long the recommendations for self-isolation and restrictions on non-essential events and activities will last. 02.01.2022 We hope and trust everyone is surviving the lockdown and doing the right thing...so we can all ride again that much sooner! Here at MEGA HQ we've taken the opportunity to clear the BMW S 1000 RR hire fleet and are about to take delivery of the next lot of bikes. However, we still have a couple of left over items that need to be cleared... 2017 BMW S 1000 RR Engine - 8,000km's...... This engine is available due to a crashed bike that was not repairable. Engine is in excellent condition and only being sold separately as the rest of the motorcycle was a total loss. Run-in as per BMW specs and flawlessly maintained during its use. $5,500 2015 BMW S 1000 RR Road Fairings - Brand New... These fairings of from one of our older hire bikes. They are brand new and have never been used on a motorcycle. Includes all road gear (lights, indicators, etc.), but no mirrors. $1,250 Located in Lyndhurst Victoria. All riders who were booked into these events will be directly advised of this cancellation via email, followed by another email containing a voucher to the value of their booking. This voucher is valid for 3 years and can be applie...d directly through our website, or over the phone with one of our friendly customer service staff. Announcements regarding our scheduled dates for the 23rd & 24th of April (and beyond) will be made once we gain a clearer picture of the length and severity of the governmental restrictions and health guidelines. Until then we have disabled the bookings function on our website to save any further confusion as to what dates are going ahead. Once dates are confirmed we will reactivate this area of the website. If you are currently booked for any of these later dates, you are welcome to contact us via email to request a cancellation. As our office is temporarily closed, we are not taking incoming phone calls at this point in time, so should you need to contact us about anything else, please simply send us an email via the contact us page on our website, and we'll do our very best to help you. 28.12.2021 November Ride Days are Green for Go! Whilst this is probably the most exciting announcement we have been able to make so far this year, there are going to be some changes to requirements to attend these Phillip Island Ride Days. At this stage we believe that some of these changes will be ongoing, and others will be phased out for later events.... REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND PHILLIP ISLAND RIDE DAYS 1. All patrons must be double vaccinated or have a completed Medical Exemption Clearance Notice. This will be checked by Phillip Island Circuit security staff as you enter the gate. If you do not provide either proof of double vaccination or medical exemption, you will be denied entry. This will be ongoing for the foreseeable future. AS YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED OF THIS, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULES IF YOU ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE CIRCUIT AND ARE DENIED ENTRY ON THE DAY. 2. All patrons must adhere to COVID-safe practices which include the appropriate use of masks and social distancing. It is also highly recommended to regularly wash and / or sanitize your hands. Hand sanitizer will be provided at various locations around the venue. If you are booked for the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of November, you should have received an email with this information. Should you not be able to abide by any of the above information, please contact our office by emailing [email protected] URGENTLY. Due to the lateness of this communication, we are waiving the usual 7-day refund or reschedule policy, allowing you to make changes over the next day or so, including the option of getting a full refund if that is the most suitable outcome for you. NOTE The above rules and regulations are not generated by Phillip Island Ride Days staff or organization, we are simply abiding by the contracted and mandated rules and regulations we have been given. Please do not consider attending one of our events and / or our social media presence as a place to make political stances or comments. 19.12.2021 Information regarding 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd of November 2021 Phillip Island Ride Days. As you can probably understand, it is extremely difficult navigating the current environment and running the sort of events we run, as there are multiple restrictions and regulations that affect us. With this in mind, we are doing our best to inform people as early as possible when information comes to hand. Below are a couple of important points to consider if you are currently booked, or co...nsidering booking, one or more of these dates... 1. We do not as yet have a directive from the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit regarding vaccinations for riders. All staff (both circuit and providers) must be double vaccinated, so we are assuming this will be the case for riders also. It is our suggestion that if you are not currently double vaccinated and/or not able to have that process completed prior to these Ride Days, do not make any bookings. If you are currently booked, it would be best to organise either a refund or reschedule sooner rather than later. Please contact our office by emailing [email protected] ASAP if you are in this situation. 2. We still are not 100% sure these dates will go ahead. Although there are announcements expected over the coming week, we require an appropriate amount of time to manage the logistics of running these events. That appropriate amount of time is 7 Days. What this means is that a decision as to whether or not these events run will be made at the close of business on Monday the 25th of October. At that time we will email those who are booked and post an update here. We apologise for all the changes and the lateness of the communications, but we are doing our best in this unique and unprecedented situation.
