06.01.2022 Dear Phillip Island Soccer Families, The committee has met to discuss our options in response to the cancellation of the GSL season for 2020 and reimposed restriction of non contact training for senior players. Due to the ever changing situation with Covid-19 and the uncertainty of the next few weeks we have, after lengthy discussion, decided to cancel training for term 3. We feel it is our responsibility as a community club to prioritise the health and safety of our player...s and their families. We would like to express our sincere thanks and acknowledge the work of club committee members and volunteers who have been working behind the scenes in these uncertain circumstances. Our goal moving forward is to offer a soccer program in term 4 if the restrictions allow this to occur. We will be processing refunds for players in the next two weeks, please appreciate that this will take some time and we will work as quick as we can. Please stay safe and we will update members on any possible competitions for term 4 once we know more. Andrea Blair Dempsey On Behalf of the PIBSC Committee

02.01.2022 Hi All Soccer Families, We have been in limbo with the soccer season due to Covid-19 and we still are unable to give any definite information about how soccer will proceed for the rest of 2020 yet. We have just held a league delegates meeting on Monday night discussing potential scenarios for 2020 going forward.Decisions cannot be made at our level until Federal and State governments make decisions under medical advice to allow a safe return to sport. The GSL is keen to have... a competition up and running in some form but again we won't know what form it will take until more information is forthcoming. Once we know more information we will be able to confirm our plans and dates to commence training and playing. We hope you are all keeping safe and healthy and if you are looking for any ideas on keeping players busy and improving their skills here are some links to some Football Victoria resources. https://www.footballvictoria.com.au/llf-athome https://www.playfootball.com.au/play-at-home-challenge Phillip Island Soccer Committee

01.01.2022 Please read the following important message from the GSL. "On 29 June the Delegates decided they were prepared to fight on for a 2020 season and up until 24 hrs ago, the likelihood of our juniors commencing looked promising. Following the events of the last 24 hrs, contact training for seniors has been deferred until further notice, a couple of reported Covid cases within our region, the first in a very long time. Clubs were starting to express their reservations and we w...ere reduced to 3 clubs willing to continue at a junior level. The general mood amongst our members started to shift. Bearing all this in mind it has been decided to cancel the 2020 season. I would like to express my sincere thanks and acknowledge our Club Committee members and volunteers, you have worked tirelessly in difficult and uncertain circumstances. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I am equally disappointed, really thought we could have pulled this off against the tide. Thank you to the Board, Peter Boyes (GFC) Mark Cassar (FV) and George Angelopooulos (FV) for their support, advice and assistance, all greatly appreciated. COVID is not leaving us anytime soon and the new protocols will become the new norm on how we manage our clubs into the future. Take care, stay safe, let's all take a breath, it's been incredibly stressful on all of us." The Phillip Island Committee will now need to discuss whether we can continue training, we will let all members know as soon as we can.

01.01.2022 Thanks to our junior players Abi ,Rani, Annie, Lucas, and Bella who have been refereeing the u8s u11s and u14 games each week. Also a great game tonight from our U14 teams Pink and Blue well done.
