23.01.2022 A recent residental concept for a project in Blairgowrie. We will be creating a carefree, playful and local environment to work with the home by @inform_melbourne in association with @pleysierperkins We plan to work with the existing Melaleuca lanceolata to help set the scene and add a mix of native and hints of exotic plants to help create a wildlife corridor. All the while ensuring a sanctuary for the owners to enjoy and feel a natural connection to the area.

22.01.2022 As we all know it’s an interesting time at the minute and our local business’s are having to consider transitioning. Above all right now it’s a time we need to factor in our mates and have a yarn, look out for each other... One of our good mates Cassie and her amazing team @firecrackerevent are transitioning and thinking outside the box, (in this case the lunchbox!) They are currently offering take home meals @joyceandlouiseshop in collaboration with @figandsalt If you know any locals transitioning their business in these crazy times, pop them in the comments below and get local, get vocal!

22.01.2022 We are honoured to be invited back to the 25th anniversary of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show exhibiting alongside the ‘best of the best’ 2020. With the support of presenting partner, Yarra Valley Water. It’s our time will showcase Victoria’s iconic coastline and the importance of water conservation. The zero-waste garden will see over 3,000 native plants from across Victoria’s west coast, primarily from the Otway and Warrnambool plains and Otway ranges, ...used to celebrate the importance of locality, encourage biodiversity, promote water conservation and the ecological role it plays in maintaining the quality of our soil, water and air. The 250sqm landscape will be created over 11 days together with many industry collaborators and we look forward to sharing more of the journey with you in the lead up. #itsourtime2020 @yvwater @melbflowershow #aleksandarbobic

21.01.2022 For those that have been following our landscape come to life at the 10th China Flower Expo in Shanghai. We are very proud to announce that it has been awarded one of 3 master garden awards, this award means that these 3 gardens will remain in Shanghai permanently post the expo finishing in October. We feel very privileged to have been recognised along with @jamesscapedesign and @xanthewhite and to have been able to create a garden led by an Australian team at the expo amongs...t the 22 talented international teams represented. We see this garden as a true testament to the hard work that Cecilia Xia and our Chinese team on the ground in @udream_landscaping put into making the garden and relationship come together with the upmost integrity. Given the circumstances and the fact that we could not be their made it a very different install and quite a challenging task for the build team on the ground. We congratulate them as they celebrate the expo with the Chinese public throughout the year and we are chuffed to learn that there is now the opportunity to visit this landscape in the future. 20.01.2022 A recent residential concept for a project in Merricks Beach, Vic. We will be creating, a natural environment to work with the beautiful home designed by @thesociableweaverhomes A challenging site set in a flood zone, we setout to work with the contour to mitigate the issue of wet conditions, ensuring it was part of the design response. By using a large percentage of local plants and natural materials we aim to connect back to the area, whilst creating a sanctuary for the owners. Image by @ameliastanwix

20.01.2022 Due to recent guidance from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee in light of the evolving COVID-19 situation which advises against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people, we regret to share that the 2020 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show has been cancelled as you may well know. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our partners @yvwater, @avocalandscape, IMG, collaborators, suppliers, media and our dedic...ated team who have so generously supported our vision and worked tirelessly on ‘It’s Our Time’. Whilst we will be unable to present this landscape to you, we will continue to be passionate advocates for sustainable design creating environments rich in both native and productive plant-life and look to the future with positivity. We are committed to providing support for all of our employees and collaborators and working with our industry during these unprecedented and challenging times, working closely with our teams to ensure we minimise the impact and of this outcome by repurposing materials and plants into the future. We hope to be able to share our concept with you at another time, until then please support your local suppliers, plant a tree, breath in fresh air and be kind. #itsourtime2020 #pointaddis Image @ameliastanwix See more

19.01.2022 We visited Stage 1 of a project in Lara to see the vegetation growing well in the harsh summer conditions. The garden takes local inspiration and it’s species list from the neighboring You yang regional park. It aims to naturally work into the conditions as the irrigation system looks to be turned off after summer and it’s establishment period. The landscape will aim to give a natural feel to the new estate and just as importantly feed our local birds. Stage 2 is set to be in...stalled this year in collaboration with @architectseat to include local and natural materials from @lumpsculpture @bamstone_bluestone Get local, get vocal! See more

12.01.2022 Work in progress... It’s our time, Shanghai A garden destined for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show in 2020 which was since adapted to become a contemporary local garden for Shanghai. Here you get a feel for the natural landscape components coming together... We saw this garden as a great opportunity to learn about Shanghai and the surrounding landscape. The city now sits among plains rich with alluvium soils and spots of diorite, granite, laterite and sandstone. For us to contribute the best and most relevant landscape, we must pull from all of these sources both celebrating and projecting the narrative of the land beneath our feet. Amongst the landscape you will see a granite boardwalk interpretation, sandstone walling, sandstone boulders and a lookout made up of granite stone sourced from the local environment. 12.01.2022 Thank you @nativeplantproject for the beautiful story on our torquay project

12.01.2022 Our local environment is inspiring! A true marking of spring in Victoria is the Common Heath coming out in true form right now as they are here in Anglesea, part of the Otway Plains. We have been so blessed to conduct research along this coastline at present. If you look into the latin meaning behind Common Heath - Epacris impressa it represents such a beautiful and simple sentiment, "I was impressed upon a hill So I suppose the simple message here is don’t forget to go for a wander in nature, especially in Spring. Anyway for those whom are interested there is a beautiful read about collecting inspiration from our local environment on @theplanthunter and some wonderful people providing opinion, enjoy!

10.01.2022 Kangaroo Grass, (Themeda trianda), a true Australian native grass that can be found growing in most parts of the country. It makes an ideal understory grass for a natural feel. It can also be planted on mass and grown as an informal native lawn or let grow to seed for showy grass heads against Masses of wildflower. Themeda triandra is a tufted perennial that can grow to 1.5 m tall and 0.5 m across. Its leaves are 10-50 cm long and 2-5 mm wide, green, brown and grey drying to ...an orange brown in summer. The flowering period is from December to February. It is very widely adapted and grows on soils ranging from sand to heavy clays. It also grows in soils of low to moderately high pH. Kangaroo grass is primarily used in making flour, and has been an important food for Indigenous Australians through history. As a crop, the grains were said to be harvested and ground into flour and porridge, the flour was then used to make damper. What some may not realise is that these grasses are deep-rooted perennials and also work to sequester carbon and maintain soil health. Yet can survive on rain and without fertiliser to produce a yield for whatever purpose we endeavour. A plant we can celebrate with a true sense of place. Image @ameliastanwix
