23.01.2022 Our people at Phillro Industries are all good sports both in and out of work hours. Phillro Industries Team member Paul Jenkins is no exception. Paul has been sailing sail boats for over 35 years both competitively and recreationally owning his own ocean going sailboat based at Royal Brighton Yacht Club. This year will be Pauls first Sydney to Hobart race. Paul will make up one of seven crew members on the 54 foot yacht named `Blue Water Tracks. The race will start on Boxin...g Day December 26th for the 628 Nautical Miles to Hobart celebrating its 75th Year. Rated as one of the toughest ocean races in the world down the east coast of Australia then crossing the notorious Bass Strait to Tasmania; Crew will be rostered on two and half hourly watches meaning alternating between sleep and watch duties to keep the boat trimmed for optimum speed non-stop for 4 5 days and nights. We wish Paul well for this race and look forward to his safe return to work in January 2020. The Race start will be televised live on Channel Seven from 12.00 P.M. on Boxing Day. We wish Paul a safe and successful race along with the other crew of Blue Water Tracks and look forward to his safe return in 2020. See more
