A vehicle that is serviced rarely has a very high chance of small jobs becoming big jobs due to the amount of extra cleaning and repair work required to complete the jobs properly. Often as you go to fix these vehicles we end up finding more and more things that need extra time spent on them

17.01.2022 Any modern diesel with a PCV and EGR setup are all prone to one issue. Intake carbon buildup, caused by the blow by oil mixing with the EGR carbon making it to stick to the intake surface. Here is a 1kd we did a clean on recently. You can see from the before pics just how clogged the intake was before cleaning. 09.01.2022 Lack of posts as we have been flat out with plenty of work! This patrol received a new lease on life after it had the exhaust manifold warp and crack both cylinder 1 studs snap. Unfortunately it is a common issue for these motors and often a new manifold is needed

04.01.2022 Two different ecotec motors, both with the same issue. Unfortunately these motors are common for electronic thermostat failure. They don’t even have to get much higher over their usual running temps to cause issues Both vehicles then had failure of the oil cooler system due to heat allowing oil to bypass o-rings and seep into the coolant causing hose swelling and a range of other issues. We rebuild these coolers with new seals right through, replace hoses if they get bad and ...flush the cooling system with an oil removal additive. Phil Saxby Auto Repairs Your local shop!

01.01.2022 The Nissan YD25 weak point is its timing chains, and whilst regular servicing does help them last longer its almost inevitable that theyll need doing at some point. Here are some pics of the duplex upgrade we carry out converting the bottom main chain to a dual row and replacing all tensioners, guides, and top chain with revised uprated parts.
