21.01.2022 It’s Wednesday which means Phil’s Emporium is open again and our volunteers have been working around the clock to get the shop ready for so much loveliness! We have been super blessed this week and gifted with exquisite donations...so if you are looking for Christmas presents that won’t break the budget today is the day.....we will also be having a sale on clothes (buy one, get one free) and we have some new clothes to give away. As we are getting busier we are unable to to put things on hold from Facebook photos (plus we don’t always get the messages in time!) so if you see something you love come on down or send a friend in for you. The Food Hub is open today as well from 10am-12pm and is free for those needing some support this Christmas season. P.S. Our barista is back this week

20.01.2022 GINGERBREAD ORDERS Update: For everyone who has placed an order for Gingerbread House kits, they are nearly ready...we had hoped to have them ready for Tuesday 1st December but the lolly order did not arrive last Friday so we’ve been trying to chase that up. There’s 47kgs of lollies that are on their way and need to be packed and fingers crossed they arrive tomorrow as we may be delayed and have them ready for Wednesday. Please msg me if you need your kit on the 1st, otherwise I will be in contact with you and hope to have them all out on Wednesday 2nd. Thanks for understanding! (Please note we have sold out!) Chloe

20.01.2022 We have 5 more days of op shopping left until we take a break and re-open on the 9th January 2021. All our clothing for the next 5 days will be $1 (adults and children) so be sure to come and find something for the holidays! We are still sorting clothes and getting new things out...we are taking donations for the next few days but Saturday will be the last day for donations. We are open 10-2 today, 10-2 Thursday, 10-4 Friday and 9-1 Saturday. Our last day of trading will be Wednesday 23rd December. The Food Hub is open today from 10-12. Have a fabulous week!

20.01.2022 We LOVE our Junky Craft community! At Phil’s we have a bunch of awesome women who meet up weekly to make stuff for the op shop (facemasks, bags, cards etc) and learn new skills when it comes to craft and upcycling. Our Junky Craft leader Vicki has the biggest heart and we love her heaps! The ladies are finishing up their projects for the year and we surprised them with some gratitude cookies ! This Saturday the group will be at Captain’s Treasure making fabric wreaths and helping decorate the village baubles. We’ll be there between 10am-1pm

19.01.2022 Next week we’ll be taking our Junky Craft troupe to Captain’s Treasure. We’ll be making wreaths and painting wooden Christmas baubles outside the op shop at Captains Flat. We had such a great time today at Bungendore and look forward to extending the love to our neighbouring village!

17.01.2022 Gingerbread orders have SOLD OUT! Thank you everyone for your support this year, we have 75 Gingerbread packs ordered and they’ll be ready for 1st December!

07.01.2022 School’s nearly out but just in case you want to do some ‘home learning’ in the holidays, we have this awesome ‘olden days’ school desk that’s been dropped off. It’s $50 for the first person who pops in today! We are open from 10am-4pm with the Food Hub open from 10am-12pm. Adam is making coffees and we are going to try and push our huge blue tub up the front with a mountain of clothing for $1 each....it’s going to be a great day!!

06.01.2022 If you fancy a drive to Captains Flat today make sure you drop in to the op shop there...Captain’s Treasure have an ‘Upcycled’ Christmas Workshop on today and lots of gifts for Christmas. We are located at 21 Montgomery Street inside St Luke’s Anglican Church and we’ll be here from 10am-1pm. We have cash facilities and can do direct deposit with a bsb and account numbers.

06.01.2022 Gingerbread Update: For everyone playing a long at home with Gingerbread houses....a few hacks for when you start your build.....the temptation is to get the walls and roof on fast and start decorating....if you wait about 10 mins and let the icing dry first your roof will have a better chance at survival! Another hack is to use dress making pins to keep it all together...just remember to count in the pins and count them out once it’s dry. Hack number 3 is to go easy on the i...cing....your icing bag will last the distance if you start with a modest snip in the bag then increase it as you go along (and don’t eat it along the way!)....hack number 4 is to get some help holding the walls up......hack number 5 is to be creative with the lolly bag-feel free to chop up the lollies and mix it up a bit....the last hack is when you are finished use a sifter to sprinkle icing sugar all over it before you package it up-this will give it the ‘snow effect’ and will cover up any design flaws ! For those who haven’t collected their orders yet we have them at the op shop today until 1pm but feel free to contact me on 0422605009 to organise to pick it up. I will post next week if there are any left available but for now we are solid out...95 houses are being built across the community these next few weeks!

03.01.2022 25 days until Christmas and we have decked out Phil’s for the festive season. Don’t let Christmas be stressful this year, we have gorgeous outfits for $5, gift ideas for under $5 and lots of stocking stuffers for as little as 50 cents. Buying Pre-loved is totally on trend in 2020 and so many things in our shop have a story waiting to be told! Bring a smile to a friend’s face with a special photo album....find a dress for that Christmas party that we’re now allowed to have (yay for restrictions easing!) or make Dad’s Christmas with a set of retro golf clubs. Phil’s Emporium is open this week on Wednesday 10am-4pm, Thursday 10am-2pm, Friday 10am-4pm & Saturday 9am-1pm.
