18.01.2022 So PUA has a Cessna 150 Aerobat... What happens now? Well we are so glad you asked!!! As mentioned yesterday, WXT won't be online for bookings immediately as it's refurbishment has already begun. In fact, the seats came out today and are off for re-upholstery! However, we would like to note that once ready to be revealed, WXT will make for a very versatile addition to the fleet. Just like our standard Cessna 150 (VH-SLL), WXT is a perfect trainer but its structural difference...s allow for most standard aerobatics. Maneuvers such as snap, barrel and aileron rolls, cuban eights, loops etc are all within the aerobat's repertoire! 16.01.2022 We are excited to announce the addition of VH-WXT (a Cessna 150 Aerobat) to the PUA fleet!!! As the name implies, the Aerobat is designed for aerobatics and will be a brilliant and versatile trainer along side our other Cessna 150 VH-SLL! WXT was waiting for us in Boonah QLD and the job of flying Phil up to retrieve the aircraft fell to none other than Sean and Matt, the same team who flew with Angela Hipwell to retrieve VH-SHN from Lightning Ridge in August.... Border passes in hand, Phil and the boys flew up in SHN which made it back with Sean and Matt just after Midday. Phil on the other hand had a 6 hour flight to get to know our new aircraft before finally landing back at Cessnock. 11.01.2022 What can I do with my RPL? The RPL provides your first taste of being an independent pilot but, as it is the first licence on your aviation journey, it does come with some limitations. Of particular note: - You can only operate a single engine aircraft with certified max takeoff weight of no more than 1500kg;... - You can carry 3 passengers (with class 2 medical certificate); and - You are limited to flying within 25 nm of your departure point (as shown on the map). However, there are endorsements which can expand on these privileges but most pilots choose to obtain their PPL instead to unlock greater freedom, qualification, and diversity among aircraft types and features. CPL navs do differ from the PPL largely due to the nature of the licence with James often standing in to simulate the client. On this flight James was treated to a flight over the Jenolan Caves, the Three Sisters at Katoomba and then on to Bankstown....
