24.01.2022 Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 837, series of 1991, the country dedicates the entire month of November each year to the Library and Information Servi...ces (LIS) Month. The month-long event is meant to recognize the invaluable contribution of the country’s libraries and information centers to the continuous pursuit of knowledge. The 30th LIS month’s theme, LibREAL: Relate, Engage, Advocate, Lead, stresses the role of libraries in attaining sustainable development goals, which is incorporated in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022. On November 4, 2020, the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) will be spearhead the 30th LIS Month Virtual Opening Ceremonies, via their website and official Facebook page. This will be followed by virtual activities throughout November which will be held by various libraries and organizations across the country. At the end of the month, on November 30, the 30th LIS Month Virtual Closing Ceremony will be held along with the awarding ceremony for the winners of various LIS contests. 15.01.2022 PH Trade and Investment Secretary Lopez invites AU business to make it happen in the Philippines CANBERRA (29 October 2020) Trade and Investment Secretary Ramon Lopez invited businesses in Australia and New Zealand to expand their operations as the global economy stages its recovery from the pandemic and make it happen in the Philippines. The Secretary led the online launch of the new investment campaign, Make It Happen in the Philippines, to prospective investors in Aust...ralia and New Zealand on 28 October 2020. Secretary Lopez said that the Philippines is working on a V-shaped recovery noting the World Bank 2021 growth forecast of 6.2% and IMF growth forecast of 6.8%. The Secretary referred to the improved ranking of the Philippines in the Global Innovation Index hitting the top 50 this year from 73 in 2018. He discussed opportunities in the Information Technology Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector.
