25.01.2022 Most recently Phoenix Reproductions and Eureka Models have agreed to expand our degree of cooperation. We will now produce, in conjunction with our D3 model, a quantity of Eureka Models K class steam engines. Whilst the two models only share a small number of common items in their external appearance, the assembly of the models is very similar. We can use many common components across the two assemblies. Our D3 is slated for delivery 1st quarter 2020 and the K will be available later in the 2nd quarter. The K class production will be under the Eureka Models brand and all outstanding orders will be available from them. Phoenix Reproductions will also have a small quantity of EM branded K class for sale whilst stocks last.
25.01.2022 Our Victorian Railways D3 steam locomotive webpage and order form is now online, http://phoenixreproductions.com.au/d3_web.htm We expect running samples in October with delivery early in 2020.
25.01.2022 A quick update on the D3 project, the model has been designed to offer a wide choice of operating era and has several combinations available, we'll expand upon these next week. We are also offering two styles of tender with both the fully welded construction and the later part welded part riveted style. We are expecting the first engineering samples to be available in August.
23.01.2022 One D3 still wore a Flare top tender in the mid 1950s. We should receive the first engineering sample of this part around the first week of September. Unfortunately that puts it a little too late to be incorporated into our current D3 production but we may be able to include a small number of models into our VR K class production cycle later this year.

15.01.2022 Yesterday the third pallet of VR and SAR wagons was delivered. Today we commenced packing pre-orders and they should all be mailed by Tuesday. A minor distraction whilst unpacking:
13.01.2022 Forthcoming Phoenix Reproductions VR D3 steam engine.
11.01.2022 First run of our D3 model, very smooth and free running, starting off at only 2.5V.
08.01.2022 Short update on the latest NEWS from Dongguan and our Victorian Railways D3 model. Around the 25th May our vendor expects to send us some factory painted and running samples of the model with all the corrections completed. If we are satisfied it's complete we'll proceed to production in June. Once the D3 is in production they'll then assemble some EM K class samples and send those for us to assessment. Some engineering changes we have already made to the K chassis (for the D3 model) is to incorporate the ability to interchange tenders between both models.
05.01.2022 Last weekend at The Waverley Model Railway Club exhibition we had a small quantity of VR E and SAR O open wagons. All pre-orders from Phoenix were shipped and the balance of stock was available. The remainder of the production is currently being finalised in Dongguan and will arrive in Sydney around the end of July.
04.01.2022 Recently posted on a South Australia forum, a block train of Holden bodies en-route from SA to Victoria. With a nice number of OM wagons included. Image from Trove, Locomotive SA.
02.01.2022 Whilst enjoying the Geelong hospitality last weekend we took a quick snap of the two sample D3 models together. We're expecting painted samples early March.
02.01.2022 Recently we received a pre-production running sample of our forthcoming HO gauge VR D3 model. There are a few minor points to cover with our supplier to be corrected prior to assembly but these are minor. The DCC lighting functions are working nicely and the marker light sequencing is great. The sounds are not Victorian, but merely for evaluating the speaker. Production is set to begin next month and shipping from the factory about 3 months later.
