20.02.2022 The Scanlon Foundation is funding Volunteering Australia's, Story Project, to undertake research looking at the experiences of community participation and volunteering in multicultural Australia. The Story Project is calling out for you to share your experiences of volunteering and community participation. The project will entail conversational interviews entailing understanding your perspectives of volunteering or community participation, your experiences and concerns, the kinds of activities you partake in or may seek to partake in, the significance of these activities, and relevance to your background.

06.02.2022 Feeling the pinch at the pump these days? Phoenix 96.3FM would like to help out with a $200 Caltex Fuel Raffle as part of our fundraising efforts this Easter period. Tickets are only $2 each and available ONLY from the studio. Entry purchases must and will close on the 13th at 6pm. Any outstanding reserved tickets that have not been paid by that date and time WILL BE FORFEITED. Bank details will be provided in a response email, and once payment has been received, your tickets will be reserved for you to pick up at your convenience from the station itself on Quay Street, Bundaberg. If you've got something on your mind you'd like addressed by Mr Bennett, then send your questions in via email to [email protected], or else drop them off during business hours to Suite 8, 20 B Quay Street Bundaberg no later than Wednesday the 16th. Unfortunately, we cannot take phone calls during the broadcast. Phoenix 96.3Fm hopes to schedule this segment as a regular monthly feature program. Your input is always welcome.

25.01.2022 The Google Chrome browser is by default not allowing our stream to play (Listen Now button on our webpage, www.phoenix963fm.com.au). To get around this, you should consider using Firefox or Opera browser, otherwise go into Chrome's Settings - Site Settings - Additional Permissions - Additional Content Settings and scroll down to the last option, Insecure Content. From there, click on Add and put in our URL. It's an inconvenience, but the only way to hear us on Chrome. The other option if listening to us on an Android or IOS phone or tablet is to check out MyTuner or Garden Radio apps. Both are free to use but have upgrade options to remove advertising. Let us know if you still have issues.

13.01.2022 Simple Radio by Streema is another free listening app that has Phoenix 96.3fm as one of the stations able to be listened to. Like the others Garden Radio and My Tuner, the app will display periodic ads as part of their way of being supported, and you can opt in to purchase an ad-free version, but it's not necessary. This is just one more way Phoenix is increasing its abilities to be listened to by overseas audiences, and to those in our main area who experience reception issues. For these listeners, we are working to achieve a grant that will enable us to purchase a stronger and better transmission method, but until then the Internet apps are proving to be great alternatives. You can find Simple Radio on the Google Play app or on IOS App Store.

05.01.2022 New Supermarket in NSW A new supermarket opened in Chatswood, Sydney, Australia. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.... When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and there is the scent of freshly mowed hay. In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions. When you approach the egg case, you hear hens clucking and cackling, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying. The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread and cookies. I don't buy toilet paper there anymore.
