22.01.2022 I was at a display home the other day... and I mentioned to the salesman that I was a licenced Building Designer. He said 'What is that?'. I was stunned and a bit amused. Well... to be able to provide the service to consumers of designing and producing plans for buildings in Queensland, you must be a licenced Building Designer or a Registered Engineer or a Registered Architect. 28 years ago the Queensland Government introduced the Queensland Building Services Authority Act in 1991 to regulate the building industry by introducing licensing etc. I have been a licenced Building Designer since 22/11/2005.
21.01.2022 A customer goes into a display home and asks the salesperson to give a quote on this sketch. It's not to scale so how does a builder go about quoting on this sketch. Easy....send it to me to work it into a scaled concept.
20.01.2022 I was asked today if I prepare plans for alterations & additions... Yes I do. Before & After photos. I am lucky to have worked with some great builders that take pride in the product they produce.

19.01.2022 With the panic around about the Coronavirus (CONVID-19) I thought I would let you all know that it is easy to get your building plans organised. Easily done by emailing your info to me and we can carry out phone consultations as required. I have been working with long distance clients for many years so ‘social distancing’ is not something new to me. It really doesn’t matter if you are just around the corner or in another state. Don’t let this troubling time to stop you getting on with your project. It will pass and life will carry on!

11.01.2022 What I love about drawing plans is to be a part of a client's journey. This 'ugly duckling' will be transformed into a beautiful swan. It may take the owner many months, maybe years, but it will be worth it. This house has a history for this family...once being Grandma's house with many cherished childhood memories. A proposed development had it earmarked for demolition. So this family made the choice to save it and turn it into their own home. This home will hold many more cherished memories. Thank you Shaun & Andrea for allowing me to be a part of your journey.
