21.01.2022 Day 2 almost completed for our Canadian visitor Meghan. Thanks to Ballarat Cemeteries for their hospitality last night and today. Was great for Meghan to meet our Australian winner Brenda Bowers who will be visiting Canada in a few months time. On the road to now to Geelong and found a nice sign that we had placed to make Meghan feel at home

20.01.2022 At Phoenix we have been proud to be able to manufacture a number of war memorials to help commemorate Anzac Day. Sadly in 2020 with self isolation in place these memorials will not be attended by the many who annually gather to remember those who paid the supreme sacrifice for our country. Although this is tough, it is nothing compared to the sacrifice that many service men and women both past and present have made for our country. To those people we would just like to say Thank You. LEST WE FORGET

18.01.2022 I spent 2 wonderful days in Victoria visiting cemeteries administered by Geelong Cemeteries Trust and Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust. These two cemetery ...trusts manage around 20 cemeteries each in their respective areas from very small rural cemeteries to cemeteries that are hundreds of acres wide. Special thanks to Darryl, Jason and Frank of Geelong and Helen, Deb and Brendan of GMCT for their hospitality. Everyone here in Victoria has been so eager to share with me all aspects of their cemeteries and I am eager to share all that I've learned with OACFP members. Special thanks to Chris Harrington of ACCA and Kelly Mulcahy of Phoenix Foundry for taking such great care of me and showing me their beautiful state this past week. Now off to New South Wales for another great week of education and adventures. See more

17.01.2022 Looks like a bronze belt buckle. Great idea, place your orders now

15.01.2022 The first week has come to an end for our Canadian visitor Meghan. Once again a huge thank you to Ballarat Cemeteries Trust, Geelong Cemeteries Trust and Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trusts in Victoria for your hospitality this week. Has been an extremely valuable experience so far for all involved with a large number of conversations had regarding how our professions operate in each country. Also a big thanks to ACCA and the OACFP for your support in making this exchange ...possible. Meghan also managed to fit in a visit to Torquay to see the beach for the very 1st time, something we take for granted here in Australia. For our international followers Torquay is near Bells Beach famous for being used in Keanu Reeve's Point Break movie and the annual Easter Surf Professional Tournament. Rumour has it Meghan has entered the tournament for 2020 now. Surfs up Meghan is heading to Sydney tomorrow for her week 2 of visits. See more

13.01.2022 It has taken us 6 months but we finally found a positive with the COVID 19 pandemic. Your friends favourite team finally gets a game in September

11.01.2022 As we are all aware the world is facing a public health crisis with the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). This virus is changing daily with many of the things we have all taken for granted for many years now being restricted. As can be seen from our local supermarkets panic buying is also becoming an issue for many. We have been contacted by several customers recently asking about a possible disruption in supply of bronze plaques. Phoenix is happy to confirm that we are curr...ently business as usual. We have taken steps to reduce the chance of contamination and spreading of the virus within our workforce including the cancellation of any unnecessary work-related travel by all staff. This cancellation will mean that you may not see us at industry related events or have our sales staff visiting, but please contact us if you need assistance in any matter. Phoenix has taken the above steps to reduce the risks of our staff contracting the virus which may possibly cause disruption of supply. We also understand that while the majority of us in the workforce may not be at risk of serious illness, we do have relatives and friends that may be severely affected if they catch this virus. Phoenix is also here to help the industry. We have recently agreed to manufacture for a fellow supplier who has been forced to close the doors due to this virus. This step was taken for the industry to ensure that no end customers are forced to have any unnecessary delays in supply. Finally, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy and like all we are hoping for life to get back to normal as soon as possible.

08.01.2022 Today brings an end to Meghans visit to Australia with a more relaxed day visiting Waverley Cemetery and Bondi Beach before her flight home tomorrow. Thank you to the sites visited yesterday for offering time to show Meghan around including Southern and Northern Cemeteries in Sydney and Palmdale on the Central Coast. Once again a huge thank you to all the hosts during the 2 week period and ACCA and OACFP for supporting this initiative. ... Keep an eye out for the 2020 nomination forms to give yourself a chance to take part in this wonderful experience

08.01.2022 A big thanks to the staff of Rookwood Catholic and Rookwood General Cemeteries in Sydney for hosting Meghan this week. More visits and photos planned including Meghans sunburn tan tomorrow

07.01.2022 Another happy customer using a Phoenix plaque to commemorate a significant person and event.

07.01.2022 Our Canadian visitor Meghan doing her best ET impersonation. Actually is trying to point out the Southern Cross which is partly visible. Off to see some more cemeteries in the Sydney metro area tomorrow to continue the learning
