23.01.2022 Today I share something special with you. In what has been an incredibly tough year for everyone, it has become apparent to me just how important music is to everyone. Whether you are a musician or a listener, music brings us so much comfort. For our choir 'Phoenix' it means many different things to each of us, but mostly it is the sense of belonging and community we have as a choir that we love. When Covid-19 hit and we couldn't sing together, it took a huge toll on us ...all, but we battled to stay connected and positive. We are so grateful to be able to sing together again, even though our choir rehearsals look very different these days and we don't know if or when they will ever be 'back to normal'. We always keep in our minds the choirs and singers around the world who aren't as lucky as we are at the moment. I felt it was important to use our opportunity to do something meaningful and so we have put together this recording. Our wish is that our video spreads a little bit of joy and a sense of hope that things will get better. Thank you to Marcus Jones for your amazing skills in creating the video for us. Thank you to Frank Morello for allowing us to use the beautiful Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre, a place that is very special to us. We are grateful to live in gorgeous Mount Gambier with our iconic Blue Lake, so just had to film some of it there. Please share this with your friends and family - let's spread it around the world - we are all in this together and things WILL get better. Much Love.
21.01.2022 W E ‘ R E B A C K After six weeks there is finally music bouncing off our walls again!!!! We have received written permission from SA Health that we can resume 1:1 instrumental/vocal lessons which is really exciting!... Of course, strict social distancing and hygiene rules are in place and we ask you to PLEASE be sensible at all times with regard to health and hygiene. Students are NOT TO ATTEND lessons if they are unwell in any way. Hand sanitizer is available in every teaching room and we will be regularly wiping down keyboards, door handles, hand rails etc. Parents, where possible please drop your child at the front door and do not come in to wait. Contact your teacher directly for more information regarding this. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all sincerely for your continued support through these challenging times. The Phoenix community remains strong and we will get through this, thanks to all of you Students are learning, teachers are working - things are looking up! We look forward to seeing you soon. 10.01.2022 M U S I C A L T H E A T R E 2 0 2 0 Congratulations to our Musical Theatre Class of 2020!!!! Exam Week is here and these young stars have all worked so hard to get to this point in what has been a difficult year. This new syllabus has proven to be quite challenging and all students have had to work really hard to be ready in all three disciplines (singing, dancing and acting). ... The individual achievements and overall improvement they have made since the start of the year has been exceptional and we are so very proud of them all. Maria and I have really enjoyed working with you and getting to know you more closely as students and performers! Special thanks to Lily Mawson for all her hard work with the vocals and Hannah Morrison for the extra rehearsals and time she has given to make sure the students are as prepared as possible! I just love our team!! Looking forward to Musical Theatre 2021!! Phoenix & MJ

03.01.2022 It was SOOOOO FABULOUS to see nearly 30 of our fabulous Phoenix Choir last night on Zoom!! We have made plans about how we are going to continue to progress during the Coronavirus restrictions. We understand how important it is to stay at home, but we also need to keep singing - we will make this work!! It’s going to be a huge party and a huge concert when we can finally be back together
