25.01.2022 Spring is officially here When the seasons change its a perfect reminder to change your toothbrush. It is recommended that you replace your toothbrush every 3 months or if the bristles are looking frayed. Your toothbrush can carry bacteria and germs so its also important to use a new one if youve just recovered from a cold

24.01.2022 As our clinic gets back into the working routine of 2020, we know many of our colleagues and other small businesses in NSW and VIC are unable due to the devastating bushfires. Our prayers are with everyone affected, especially those who have lost loved ones and are displaced due to loss of homes or businesses. We are extremely grateful to the firefighters who are battling on the front line and all the volunteers helping where they can. We have nominated to donate $5 for every... patient seen this week to the St Vincent de Paul Society Bushfire Appeal (NSW) Vinnies NSW to help with providing everyday essentials and shelter to many Aussies who have been impacted by this heartbreaking disaster. Any contribution we can make will be a difference to someones life. @stoll_photography #Australiaonfire #Australiaisburning #Australiaburns #Australianbushfires

24.01.2022 Diet and nutrition can have a great effect on your oral health. Try to limit sugary foods to meal times rather than snacking between meals. Tap water is fluoridated in most areas of Australia and is one of the easiest ways to help prevent tooth decay. Chewing sugar free gum after meals is a a good way to stimulate saliva production and help neutralise the acidic environment created in your mouth after eating. #dentalhealthweek

24.01.2022 Summer has only just finished but winter sports are around the corner and its really important to protect your mouth and teeth. Check with your health fund as many of them allow you and your children to have a new free professionally made mouthguard each year. Remember prevention is better than injury! And good luck to your sporting team this season!

24.01.2022 Dental health week is back! The focus this year is not only brushing and flossing, but also watching what you put inside our mouth. A balanced diet with limited sugar intake as well as regular visits to the dentist are just as important!

21.01.2022 Good hygiene is in your hands. Regularly wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. Learn more at health.gov.au #COVID19

21.01.2022 Flossing should be an essential part of your oral hygiene regime as toothbrushing alone does not clean the all the surfaces of your teeth. Flossing is done best when youre not in a rush, so try to find the best time that suits you. This could be first thing in the morning or just before cleaning your teeth before bed, or even during your lunch break at work. Children should be encouraged and helped until around the age of 8 years as they will have limited dexterity to do it properly on their own. #dentalhealthweek #healthyteeth

08.01.2022 Its Dental health Week and this year the theme is focusing on your oral health status. Did you know: - 65% of Australians havent seen a dentist in the last two years. - 50% of Australians brush their teeth only once a day.... - Nearly 40% never floss or clean between their teeth. - 73% of young people (14-18 years) are consuming too much sugar. The best way to learn and improve your oral health status is to speak with a dentist who can educate you on your oral health techniques. www.ada.org.au/Dental-Health-Week

06.01.2022 Smoking doesn't only cause lung cancer or chronic respiratory disease, but can also contribute to many adverse problems relating to your mouth and teeth. By quitting smoking, you can reduce your risk of mouth-related diseases including gum disease, oral cancer, tooth staining and bad breath. If you or someone you know is thinking of quitting, visit quitnow.gov.au Image adapted from SA Health

06.01.2022 With the cold and flu season upon us it is especially important that toothbrushes are not shared. Keep childrens toothbrushes in different colours to avoid confusion. Toothbrushes can harbour bacteria which can result in illness. If you experience the flu or just a common cold, your toothbrush should be replaced once you recover. Image reposted from @curaprox

02.01.2022 Public service announcement In accordance with the Australian Dental Association, and in response to the rapidly escalating situation with Covid 19, we have decided to defer all general and elective dental treatment. We will still be open for urgent and emergency dental care.... If you are uncertain where your appointments fall, please give us a call on 9434 1235 and our reception team will help you determine the urgency of your dental appointment. We have always strictly adhered to universal infection protocols, and since the Covid 19 virus spread to Australia, we have tightened these infection control measures with extra cleaning and swabbing of hard surfaces to maintain standards. We value your need for dental treatment, but above all YOUR health and your familys health. We are also working on how we can best support our patients should you require emergency dental treatment, but have been directed to isolate at home by a medical facility. We are attempting to ensure you have access to the appropriate pain relief or symptomatic relief for your circumstances, at the discretion of the Dentist. Please call us and we will strive to manage your situation to our best capabilities. Most importantly, stay safe, wash your hands, and we will be here to meet you again in the future!
