24.01.2022 Aumtumn is a time of surrendering. As the leaves prepare to fall away so do we prepare again for the inward turn. The graceful dance of surrender begins. Whether we are overworked or have overplayed in the throes of summer joy we now must tend to our wounds and let go of unnecessary burdens. It is about breath, lungs, grief, surrendering to emotions and self love and care. The pull downward, inward, has begun as we begin our journey back to the inner. Sinking ever deeper into... the realms of mystery, creativity, feeling and truths we may have been ignoring. Autumn harvest is a great way to nourish the body for the coming winter also creating preserves. Orange fruits and vegetables, fresh greens and spices such as ginger garlic horseradish and chilli warm the body and clear the airways. And as the leaves begin to fall, so do we surrender to the magnificent all. Blessings x See more

18.01.2022 Prevention is the best cure!!

16.01.2022 Comprised immunity comes from a lack of time (constantly rushing around and not having enough time to eat, to sleep, to relax, to communicate or to sit back) am...ongst other things, and what builds immunity is having time. So the situation we have now, on one level, could be a blessing in disguise. All of a sudden with working from home, cancelled events, self-quarantine and closed venues comes a hidden gift: time! Let’s not waste it, let’s make the most of this incredible opportunity and get back in synch with the natural health-building yin and yang rhythm of the day. It takes a long time to get the urgency (yang drive) and stress out of your system and the door is wide open for this now. Don’t waste this precious chance by sleeping in, bingeing on Netflix and munching pasta. This is not going to build your immune system, destress the system or build energy (it will do the opposite). Save that stuff for a holiday, now is the time to work on health, get aligned again and get ready to step back into things, whenever that happens, rejuvenated, refreshed, and energized, a version of your best and healthiest self. ... #workingfromhome #coronavírus #opportunityawaits #immunesupport

12.01.2022 Winter is the most Yin time of year in Chinese Medicine philosophy. It is a time of inward focus, embracing darkness and cold and nourishing the fire within. It is associated with the Kidneys, where resides our willpower and life force or Jing. Their flavour is salty, colour is black and feeling is coldness. To strengthen and nourish the kidneys we need rest, to calm the mind through meditation, relaxation, and to keep safe and warm. In the winter we build energy and allow th...e body to replenish. Also willpower, associated with the kidneys is required to survive the cold and the inward turn, cultivating our patience, calming the spirit and digging deep into ourselves until the sun returns again. Exercises like Yoga, tai chi and chi gung can be excellent for cultivating focus, inner peace and strengthening qi. Eating nourishing, warming and well cooked foods is essential. Foods that nourish kidneys are hearty soups with lots of root vegetables, kidney and black beans, bone broths, nuts, black sesame seeds, winter greens and any and all dark coloured or black foods can help to vitalise and support the Kidneys. Also a nice hot water bottle, fire or moxa on the lower back can work wonders if you are feeling run down or depleted and help to keep the root of your temple nourished and warm. Happy hibernating <3
